The assembly is all going well . I have been busy with detailing everything as it is mounted . I have had all of the big aluminium parts professionally polished and I am doing all of the smaller brackets myself . The first pic is the engine plate and front mount , the 2nd is the almost completed on board fire system and in the last is the differential and 4 link set-up , ROD .

More progress over the last couple of days with the chassis . The on board fire system in now complete with 3 nozzles directed at the driver and 2 at the engine as per the regulations . I have 1 pointed at my feet , and 2 under the dash pointed at my legs . The other 2 nozzles are pointed directly at the fuel system on each side of the engine , ROD.

The struts have been re-assembled and are all finished . You can see in the 2nd pic that the shock travel sensor is mounted and is all working well . I will not paint the front lower control arms until I have completed the car and it has had a wheel alignment to make sure all of my calculations are correct , ROD.

Bloody beautiful Rod and I love the colour.

What is the reason for the shock travel sensor? Just for after run checks or will it alter something pending lift etc.

I believe the shock travel sensor helps to assess damper and spring rate effects on weight / load transfer during launch - helping rod to keep it stuck to the black stuff and going in a straight line.

But I'm just guessing and rod will elaborate I'm sure.

The engine has been installed and the car is all finished and has been delivered to the Motec guy to complete all of the wiring . I have had some clutch pedal issues and have to redesign the pedal and linkage set up as it is way too heavy on the pedal . I am hoping to have the car back in about 2 weeks time and until then I am finishing off the body , ROD.

Here are the custom billet aluminium door hinges I had made that are modelled off a Mini hinge . I have mounted the hinges on a 1.5 degree angle so the door will always close . As the body lifts at the front I had to attach the hinges to the body , ROD.

Looking good Rod.
I work with people from the USA and Europe, and they are surprised when they see stuff we've made out of scrap get put to use around the place, just little things like steel steps with offcuts for boards, electric servo motor mounts to hold a 250kg motor in a cradle on the forklift made from angle iron and RHS.

They would have kittens or die of shock if they could see what you've achieved in your shed mate.
