I need some advice on how to monitor the engine.
Whats the best way to do this in 'real' time without having to buy extra guages. Is there a little display screen you can buy? Something stereo size
that runs off the ECU.
Any ideas? I don't really want to have to buy new gauages - even though i hate the ones i have.

Yes they are good. I have a SubDataScan 1 in all of my Subie Powered Cars and quite a few of my buggy mates have them as well.

Not too much of an update - waiting on the loom and other various bits.
Got a second hand rear disc kit that has done around 3000k's. I believe its a Sherman kit and the calipers are a 'Fiat' type. Does anyone else run
these? Do you know exactly which type of caliper they run and where you get new pads from???
Any help or experience with these would be much appreciated.

i got my shermans brakes 2nd hand and one of the splines as worn so i had lots of trouble. they also overpowered the wide 5 kit i had on the front,
because if the spline i took them off before i added a brake bias to fix them up.

Mick, i caught up with john today
i gave him a pic of ur brakes, he said they look like his but cant tell from the photo which calipers they are as he used a few different ones
he rattled off 2 DB numbers for brake pads but said give him a call but eitherway he can supply pads
just tell him u were talking to me about them, he'll know who u are then
but allow 30 mins as he loves a good yarn
kept me there for ages talking subi conversions

Not yet guys, Westi has been busy with other stuff. I'll go pick up a front sway bar today but thats as exciting as it gets.
Really want to get it done before VW nationals, engineered, blue slip, registered etc - should get moving again this week. Will post some stuff as
soon as i get it - hopefully Tuesday.

rest assured things are happening again. Went to Westside last night but missed Brad, was hoping to go over the battle plan for the rest of the
conversion. Aim is to have it ready for nats, so things will move quickly again.
Had some problems with some product i obtained which upset the apple cart but all good now.
Engine has gone in, minus manifolds etc and rear discs are on but that's it for now - hopefully something to see for all by the end of the week.

Alright, need advice re shortened sumps.
Question 1 - are they the same on all EJ20 engines. Some seem really low, while mine currently is about 20mm or so below the oil filter. Not much of a
clearance saving - or is the idea to also do something about the oil filter?
Question 2 - any known issues with shortened sump? I have read all the other material about them on the forum, just want an update if any issues.
Question 3 - has anyone cracked the original by hitting it on the ground?
