Cheers adl. It has been a hell of a journey.
Check the last update, that area has been reinforced (and therefore bonnet recently repainted). There's an Audi A6 boot popper on the inside for
remote unlocking of the bonnet

Very nice
The combination of ride height, tyres profile/width, and the wheels offset/track width look really good too!
Well done, Rob.

Well don't expect an update for 1-2 months guys. I have to sort the invoices out then I'm out of the country until mid July. At that point it should
be on like Donkey Kong! Just the seatbelts to sort at this point. Seeya in 2 short months!

Update 80
Oh so close.
-All glass installed
-Installed terminals in the engine compartment in case of battery failure in the future
-Failsafe installed for opening bonnet in case of system failure
-Trim work (except for door and rear side panels which will be completed by another trimmer once I drive the car to them) complete. Front and rear
seats fitted
-Front and rear seatbelts installed
I need to pay one invoice then when mechanic is back from holidays there will be one or two more test drives with engine and mechanical checks
inbetween. Then it's delivery day! Looks like it'll be August!

Update 81
Just about there. All test drives are done and it's ready to roll! After battling with the existing alarm and not receiving any contact back from
the company in the US that sold it to me, I have purchased a
Viper5906VR as well as the GPS tracking SmartStart addon.
2 way 1.5km range on the full colour remote, remote start, shock detection, GPS tracking and everything else you'd expect from a top of the range
alarm.
The old one is being removed and the Viper installed. The SmartStart is unfortunately in one unit (which isn't small) meaning that I need to find
somewhere to install that (imo) way too large device. Its permanent location hasn't been decided on as we'll test it in a few locations to ensure
that it has satellite visibility but isn't too obvious in the cabin.
I also bought an Antigravity Batteries XP-3 jumpstart kit which is a fantastic
little device with a good reputation. It's easy to keep in the glove box and it can charge laptops and phones too. Always useful in case of a flat
car battery!
I also took a walkaround video. The paint always looks better when you're moving around it!

Viper is installed and working and... it's also not draining the battery like the POS I had before:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vv0R4pUm3ug
The AUX function of the remote unlocks the bonnet but I didn't get a video of that.

Update 83
So before the fun first test drive videos, a few notes:
-From what we have seen, the 'Solex' carburetors attached to my engine are not Solex at all, but copies. I'm going to be taking that up with Scat.
Not only that but gaskets have leaked and the bolts holding the carbies on were not even long enough so they kept coming loose and the washers were
the wrong kind. Also the washer and bolt holding the degree wheel in were rubbish. The washer was actually starting to bend inwards so we made a
replacement with high tensile steel. Needless to say, not happy with Scat so far
-Test drive was going swimmingly for about 30 mins until issues going up a long hill. Seemed like we were running out of fuel so pulled over, tried
starting and it ran fine. Accelerated and the fuel gauge dropped! The inertia was causing the fuel in the tank not to make its way to the lines.
Anyway, an emergency call and another mechanic came out with fuel. That's when the cutouts started and it took us about 20 mins to make it 3km back
to the workshop. A lot of talking and a process of deduction has narrowed it down to a fuel starvation issue somewhere between the tank and the end
of the fuel line. This will be worked on this week so hoping Monday is pickup day.
Anyway, I DROVE IT AND IT WAS AMAZING!
Ta daaaa! First test drive video The amount of head turning and
point was unreal. It's the head-turner I was after!
