HARDWARE IN THE REAR


you have already seen most of the hardware in the rear , but this is the finished shot . the extra tank fitted at the front of the sealing housing is the breather tank for the engine

There was a Riot at Nat 04, owned by the guy with the Spyder at Nats 05. phil? bloom. Sydney

How tractable would a motor like that be for everyday driving - just for interests sake?

So you're doing 192 kilometres per hour in 11 seconds with, what looks like, 1950s crash protection technology (or lack of). You're a brave man.

That's not meant as a criticism. I worry about my ovals ability to crash well and it's got a 6 point roll bar, Saas seats and a harness. I probably do 180 maximum and it takes a fair bit longer to get there.

Does it worry you?

It looks good. Thanks for providing such and interesting and suspenseful post.

I bought the riot several years ago and plan to do it up in the near future . I haven't had time in the last couple of years as I have been busy with MANGO DREAM and now the oval .

there were only 4 of these riot kit cars made here in OZ . the one that I have is the last one out of the mould . brother rod also has one , so in the family we have half of them . ha ha

I will let you know in a couple of weeks as I plan to drive the oval to work and back daily . being injected it is very smooth to drive at low RPM and you dont know that the turbo is there unless the throttle is jumped on .

nope !! the only minor concern that I had was the ovals ability to leave the start line straight , so I did my first run on 8lbs boost to get the feel of the car . IT FELT GREAT !! then it was 14lbs boost all the way and the oval left the line straight , stayed straight and felt secure . It didn't feel very fast , but when I looked down at the poor little 80mph speedo and the needle was stuck hard against the stop on the wrong side of zero then I knew we were hiking !!

even in 4th gear , the seat and me became one . It was pushing me back so hard that I felt that I was going rearward between the seat-back uprights as there is no support bar between them .
