+ 17hp....at a guess.
some say 10 to 15% but never 30.
If a transmission absorbed 30% of an engines power it would melt the case!

WOW totally blown away buy your talent and JUNKA, I picked up a pic of your engine bay in the portland thread and a fellow member sent me over here!
Just finished reading the thread well worth staying up till 3am here in the UK!
Have you put in many street miles with the cooling setup you have? I ask because I was planning a horizontal fan setup on my Turbo motor for space,
was looking at modifying the Type 4/Porsche setup to run on my type 1 based case, but was told that they often throw belts which put me off. Last
thing I want is to see all my money go up in smoke! Looks like your setup could be the answer? At idle does the engine not suffer from over
cooling?
Thnaks,
Rob.

yeh yor write i proberly could make it bolt in,but i like to weld,no chance of movement or twist.
thanks for the nice comment's rob,at idle it takes about 20minutes to warm up the oil.i start driving after about five and nurse it for about five
before i kill it.
as for miles on the motor it has three days' on a dyno with a dicky operator that was dynoing with a manifold leak and the highest the head temp on
that side got up to 180.it has only done about a thousand k's sofar but we have only realy been doing city driving, once the gearbox is fixed we are
going to start doing some freeway testing.
as soon as we have done that there will be some testing done on a few different engine comb's and then release a kit.that way we can telll people
what to expect from engine temps .
and yes rueby that's the other thing we have been working on,i posted it just for you.
enjoy.
once i get my other fibre glass door i will fit them up to show you guy's,there unreal ,superlight.
next stop gearbox ,we cleaned some up on saturday ready to ship to the man(dave).can't wait to see what he comes up with.
then while that is getting done i am going to send the car of to get some paint, maybe some cool graphics.who knows.then maybe a new license plate .
i will keep you all posted.
down sharon.

Great stuff westi, I will be watching closely from now on, my projects a long way off but if all goes well with your fan setup put me down for one!
Do you plan to do any testing with the setup on a turbo motor?
Thanks,
Rob.

i will post some pic's when i get back.but before i left the head's came of for a look all good, but the valves looked alittle small, nah just
kidding.they are perfect but will get sent away to be checked.the barrel's and pistons have a few minor scores in them,no air filters will do
that, damn portland return road.nothing to worry about yet, they are heavier wear patterns more than normal but nothing mayjor.when i lose my finger in
one i will let you know but at the moment you can only see them in the rite light.
the heads should be back in the shop before i get back on monday.so should be the shell.i can't wait to se her all dolled up,i am even more excited
about the first scratch,it usually comes from someone giving you a hand, ahh well that's life.lol
i will also post up some pic's of some brakes and tinware and cage stuff we had done in the mad rush before i left.not on my car ,but still VW
stuff.
i am back off to the pool.
