Try swapping the idle jet with another cylinder and see if the problem moves.

I have seen new jets that didnt measure what was stamped

Barry- Problem doesnt follow the idle jet. Stay with number 2.
Ian- Pulling off number 1 plug seems to make the only drop :grind::crazy::grind:

Well using Aircooled "hose syncroniser trick", I got all cylinders pretty dam close.
Gunna put mixture screw problem in the "who cares" basket for now.
I've heard idle needs to come up a tad?

Hmm just read on thesamba that new fuel pumps are usually high pressure causeing the engine to keep sucking fuel
after the engine has stopped. Could a fuel pressure regulator be on the cards?
Grease in fuel pump hasn't been washed away if that helps..

simon...don't get paranoid...you did put a couple gaskets under th pump? and correct rod length?
people have been using standard type pump with modded engines/carbies forever without the need for reg.
what else is happening?

Well the oil is pretty watery and clear....hard to see what the level is up to. Its definetly going up though.
Did put gaskets under fuel pum and checked rod length. Are you at work?

welll...... it could be fuel. Mine does that if i park it on a hill, the needle and seat just leaks heaps of fuel into the case. one night i did it and hydro locked the engine... not good.
If your checking it when its cold and its well above the line on the dipstick, you have issues! drop it and change the oil. its not worth blowing it apart for the $$'s of new oil. also, if you have too much oil, it will cause your engine to miss... a lot!!!!...

Yeh dad reckons I'm just being paranoid as well. Its wierd, after I started it up and then let it sit for few hours the oil level is back to the right level so maybe I'm just going crazy :dork:

On a positive note: Finally got thottle cable hooked up and working so checklist for taking it for a drive anyone?!
