All done other than a few little niggly jobs like sourcing Holley fuel fittings which will be here next week. A bit of a buggar really cos now the cars done my lovely wife has me doing a reno on our ensuit. This was after painting the house a little while ago. I peaked too early

Also been investigating the data logging thing. My wideband doesn't store data so would need to make some runs with a lap top strapped in the car not to mention having to buy a map sensor etc. might be easier to strap a video camera in to watch the guages for me....:)

Thanks all.

Stoked is an under statement. I was kinda hoping to match last years 7.7 considering the extra weight of the cage and then just be able to take it home in one piece. Only tuning changes from last year were taking some timing out (24deg rather than 28) which I think this was the biggest positive. No lean issues and plugs looked nice. Jetting was the same as last year with 65 jets.

The only cock up was my dial ins (you owe me one Frosty). I well and truly under estimated these. Last race I dialled in at a 7.70 and ran the 7.58 at 89mph. Lost the race but had a grin ear to ear. Fastest mph was 90. 60fts are still a bit slow at 1.7 but that’s a result of the smaller displacement I think. It still thinks it’s a 1641 until boost comes on. Thought I’d wound the boost down but it was still running 11lbs.

Good to catch up with all the regulars and meet some new faces. No excuses now Barry time to get a move on. You only have until February.
Special thanks to Dave Butler for all the machining and advice and the MSD chip.....:)

And after all this I drove it off the trailer for once. Willowbank here we come.

Well done mate - always a big bonus when there is nothing to fix at the end of the weekend! For a such a small capacity motor, you are certainly running some pretty good numbers!

Looking forward to seeing it on the quarter.

Sorry guys nothing new to see here just updating cos i've been slack.

Also thanks for the comments and encouragement. At the moment just waiting for some new rocker covers to turn up and then i'll try and open up the breather lines. Then rather than covering the track in oil i'll book some dyno time and get a few things sorted once and for all.

Two of the most impressive perfoming, low budget VWs in Australia at the moment.
Stanleys 1641 turbo, 7.70's on the 1/8 mile,
and frosty's 1776 with stock valves and 40mm carbs runs 13.7's.
Both on pump fuel.

Goes to show what good planning and persistance can acheive!
