What an awesome result for all the hard work we have put into this car. Top vw shootout win, which gave me enough points for the overall series win
and even some prize money to top it all off. Not bad for our second test session ay?
I would like to thank firstly my crew Matty and Dad, you guy's were awesome and couldn't have done it without you two. Thanks to my wife Nicole for
her support, my main man Mick for his support also and congrats to him for achieving his goal of cracking an 8 and to all my friends who took the time
to come up to the track and support me too. Big thanks to Allpave Asphalt (my parents buisness) for the sponsorship!
The car ran so well all weekend with only minor adjustents being made to the susspension, wheelie bar and clutch settings to suit the changing track
conditions all day.
Here's a vid of one of my burnout's.

Hey guy's, we have finally started Sydney prep today by fitting the 27mm tortion bars I purchased from Rod. I have also ordered a balistics blanket
with sfi 4.1 rating for my super sedan tech and will be doing some license runs at some point before Sydney.

Hey, well got my license paperwork sorted in time for a tnt to do license passes this wed night. Then off to sydney Thursday.
Went to start the car yesterday and both fuel pumps died so will be replacing them tomorrow.
Here's some pics of the balistics blanket Mick modified for me and also added a couple layers of fire proof material to protect it against all the
hot shit round it. Looks sweet and fits good plus Steve Power (head tech adviser from andra) is happy with it so i'm happy with it. Nice work
Mick!
Cheers Dave

Well the weather held off but had a number of issues we had to sort thoughout the whole night, the main one being a blocked boost controller which
caused the engine to make 26psi of boost!!!! Being tuned for 9psi you would understand this is not a good thing. The car felt and sounded awesome off
the line but soon leaned out in second gear causing detonation so I immediately backed off and drove through. Once we sorted that I came out and the
car felt like it was back to it's old power again in the skid and launch (felt heaps slower) but then slipped the cluch pretty bad so another back
off and drive through. Last run we backed off the clutch and the car went alot better but still only managed a 12.05 @ 108 mph, reason being I had
forgot to remove the +12% of fuel in the computer which I had entered chasing the lean problem earlier in the night so It was a bit fat. Oh well, got
it 90% sorted tonight at the track just need to attempt the licence runs at Sydney now.
See ya's all there lets hope for some good weather!!!!!!!!!!
Cheers Dave!

WooHoo, My licence and log book arrived in the mail while I was on the road to Sydney. Going to change the clutch if I have enough time before
whatever date is decided for the showdown, and going to put it back on the dyno for a bit more boost then off to willow again to get that 10 sec
pass........
Cheers Dave!

Just a quick update, I have replaced the clutch in my car. I have changed from a stage 4 Kennedy pressure plate with standard disc to a stage 2
Kennedy pressure plate with a 4 puc disc. Did some practice launches up the driveway and it felt good so booked onto the Dyno moday to wind some
boost into it! I'll keep ya's posted.
Cheers Dave!

Hey Guy's, went to the dyno today and had a fairly productive day. Too start with I diddn't blow it up for once but did have an issue with the new
cluch setup. It was going fine until about 4000 rpm then it couldn't handle any more tourqe than that and would slip then grab and so on right
through to 6850 (rev limiter). I backed the clutch right off and it was slightly better until I wound the boost up then we soon found the limits again
and ended up making 217.4 Hp @ 5500 rpm and it made 17.4 psi of boost with an early shut down to save the clutch. The tune should be good for a bit
over 20 psi which is where we assume it will end up with sufficient load but after that the map just goes super rich in case. Going to pull the clutch
out again and check the pressure plate isn't pulling up too far and shim it out if it is but if it checks out fine I will go up to a stage 3 pressure
plate. Next TnT I'll be aiming for will be April 6 Sat night If any one is interested.
Here's some photos of the car hooked up to it's life support and my dyno sheet. You can see the squiggily curve after 4000 rpm. This is the clutch
slip.
Cheers Dave!
