My mistake its not 2442cc, it's 2443cc. But what's one cc between friends?
He only gets an 1835 if he doesn't swallow.

Mine leaked from there until I recently pulled it out to get the work done! I ended up getting DB to fit the axles and tubes this time as I obviously
suck at it! I think he said he puts a bit of silicone between the gaskets because most of the time the retainers are not real straight...

Not that joint. There is a join in the metal!!!! The gaskits arnt leaking, I learnt to seal them up good long ago.
|
Early ones are a one piece,
and the later ones are two pieces riveted/spotwelded together.
The two piece ones have an o-ring inside,
and usually get some sealant too
since they are older than you or I they are nor perfect anymore.
If your tranny is raised,
you should be able to witdraw the retainer back enough to seal it up with a new O-ring.

There is a lip that is formed at the joint between the inner and outer pieces.
It will be obvious once you pull back the retainer.
If you run a bead of silicone in the groove before fitting the O-ring,
it will help it do the job.
The new O-rings I have here are 3.4 to 3.5 mm diameter material, about 125mm diameter
so you can cut this size and re-join, with joint upper most.
Most bearing shops will have o-ring material and the special glue.
