Yeah, she's definitely running good at the moment, really enjoying driving her!

Ah, yes, I still have to get those on, but need the tombstone taillight assemblies before I can even think about doing it.
Will look odd though, having bloody nice white guards and a cream coloured body... :P

Its you that should be in the left lane, unless your about to turn right up the road. + you have an old car that does not perform like a modern car ie , brakes handling, power & most of all safety

so forward think about your actions and wise up before you become a statistic on the road and we read about you in the paper or on the news.

After a bit of research and some time away from AVD that I thought was necessary for me to clear my head, I have decided that I need to accomplish the following to please everyone on the forum.
It seems that everyone has their own opinion, but I am one to please all.

Firstly, I see it necessary to have all four brakes as disc brakes.
Does anyone have any threads that would include a lot of information on doing such a conversion?

Secondly, I think it is necessary that if I am going to convert to the dark side, that I upgrade both front seats and seat belts.
I'm assuming people have retractable seat belts in their bugs, do they mount straight onto the original bolts or do I need to do something fancy?

Thirdly, tyres. What type of tyres should I be running that will give me good enough grip but not too much grip.

Fourthly, should I get a newer type of steering wheel or should I get the original?
Does the size of a steering wheel drastically change the handling of a VW?

I apologise for taking up people's times. I am trying to learn as much as possible.

nbturbo,

First off, didn't know I wasn't allowed to ask questions on a public forum?
I also didn't know I had to have permission from you to post on my own build thread?

Oh well, I have the sides ready to be painted, ventless deck lid is about to be painted and tombstone taillight assemblies are on there way.
Deck lid stand offs arrived today as well.

You dont need front and rear disc brakes, i have front disc and type 3 rear drums and the braking is sufficient.

you can bolt retractable i have retractable in my 69

My tyres are front 175 X 65 X 15inch and rear are 195 X 65 X 15 inch however I do have a 2 inch narrowed beam and drop spindles

Hey Paul,

Thanks for the information!
I'm curious, where did you buy your retractables from?
I'm thinking upgrading them sooner rather than later, the safer the better.

Yeah, for now I'll be keeping her at her current height.
Will head to a tyre place soon as I need some new treads.
Almost at wear line.

SebastienPeek. I am quite amazed that your $180000.00 net annual income being a computer nerd ( as quote to me in PM ) does not allow you to purchase out right or net salary sacrifice a late model car. One would think all those hours you work at your office in Adelaide's central business district saving the said company billions of $ with computer fraud you would not have time to work on this low budget VW. Shame you got the hard word from your mother, but I am pleased having a son my self at your age she is looking after your account for you and your best interest not to have a subaru powered Vw.

Quote to Seagull,

I'm wanting that engine, but currently in year 12 and have a nagging Mum.

Is it possible, that if it doesn't go, I'd be able to pick it up early next year?

Seb

I beg your pardon?

I work as an iOS developer in a business situated on the outskirts of Adelaide. I have no such connection to computer fraud.
I also stated that I would be on that salary as of the 1st of January, 2012.

I like how you take everything out of context to create humour for others not knowing what you're doing to other people.
I'm glad you find it funny. I think you'd probably find it funny if I took it to heart and did something stupid?

How about you let me have fun with my car in whatever way I fucking want to and you fuck off?
It is obvious that you enjoy stalking teenage children, especially on the Internet. Don't people have a name for that?
The fact that you tried to find out who I was, and failed dismally, is just wrong.

One should also realise that VW's have been in my family since before I was born. My grandmother used to race her own Beetle with the MG Club at Mallala back when she was a kid. My Untie and Uncle have both owned VW Beetles and my Mother and Father, when I was a kid, owned a Type 3 Squareback.

Get your facts right before you start slandering me, fuck head.

To those that are wondering.
http://au.linkedin.com/pub/sebastien-peek-taylor/28/181/40a

I have a different last name to what Seagull would have searched for.
This is bullshit. The way that one is treated just because I want to dream big and I will have the ability to do so next year?

It is a public forum, I get that, and people can have their own opinion. Some people, however, take it too far.

Did I also mention that I am the developer of a very successful note taking application for the iPhone?
http://notacio.us

Oh, and by the way, I won't be stopping visiting the forum because I am better than that. I won't hide. I will continue to update my thread with whatever the hell I want, as I want to document what I have done with Zelda as I think it is important.

Snitz, nice to see a Christian Brother Old Collegian have an appetite for VW's.
I'll be classified as an old collegian next year, somewhat weird.

The facts are you are clearly trying to hid the fact your not what your are or have any credibility what so ever.

one did not look / search for you, you sent a Pm telling advising of your income & your position as a professional in business. As for Linkin why on earth would one think to look for you there.

As a mature professional one would not state there salary or confess there importance in life to others via PM, nor would good well educated persons that attended a private school swear as you have done with in your public posts.

At the end of the day you did not have the permission from your mother to fit a wrx turbo motor in your vw showing your nothing but a child who clearly lives at home with mummy.

Your statement on the history of your Vw has no relevance what so ever on the subject of the said post

If your family sent to a private school its to to all that read this post that your education has not provided any fundamentals, respect, or manners in the world out side the school room let alone in business.

The issue we all have is your not the only one of your kind that is from your generation who are bring down society.

There are some good persons your age that have credibility, however you clearly lack these every day skills.

Thanks to the more mature members of SA who also woke up to this clown.

my tip. Join the army or navy any of the Australian forces, then come back in a few years and tell us what you have learned about respect & responsibility & trust. It may well make the change you require to man up a little

Okay, let's do this point by point.

1. I am not trying to hide who I am, hence why I directly linked you to my LinkedIn (least I spell it right) account.

2. As a mature professional, one would not slander a 17 year old.

3. I never said I didn't have "permission" of my Mother. I clearly said, and I quote, "a nagging Mum". Not once, did I mention permission.

4. You're right, I should speak better than what I do, but you have no fucking idea about my history, who I am, what I have done, nor do you have any idea about the family in which I come from. Just because I go to a private school, it doesn't mean I can't speak the way I have to some fuckstain like yourself?

5. What mature people in SA that have woken up to myself? I haven't done anything wrong.

6. You're obviously some red neck from somewhere that reckons joining the Army is the bee's knees. My apologies that I already own a business, that I am employed as a Software Developer and that I have attended a private school (which, due to your lack of respect, I don't think you did).

Now, I don't understand what the fuck your problem is with me, as I haven't done anything to you other than ask a simple fucking question.

It has been bugging me a lot too, but I must say, at least I can form proper sentences, with correct punctuation as well. Something they teach at all private schools.

yes I went back and placed that info for good reason

you ( again ) are not reading the post, your jumping to placing a statement before you read the reason the post was made in the first place.

your adding a question to move the discussion to one side of the defendant. The post is not directed at you + you have no credibility to defend.

LinkedIn is for professionals by the way. It is a platform where professionals are able to communicate online.

People that are actively looking for iOS Developers (I'm going to assume you don't live with your head up your arse all the time, and that you know what iOS actually is) as people like myself are continuously being searched for.
