Well its been a long time coming but the car is off to the dyno tomorrow at long last!! Fingers crossed it'll play the game and everything will be
sweet. That happening Troy has only a couple of small things to do before getting it tech inspected and then its off to the track!! Will let you know

First time with this car to the dyno Troy achieved a fairly good point to start from. Apart from a few hiccups like a couple of minor oil weeps,
manifold gasket needed replacing and then a rocker cover come loose and exhaust gasket failure it was pretty good. Day ended after we fixed rocker
cover issue and exhaust gasket issue and engine cooled right down and a couple of valve clearances closed up so we called it a day.
Got the base map relatively sorted. Idle and mixtures with no boost pretty good. Made about 100hp atw at 3k with no boost. Tuner made some changes and
got it ready to do a power run with boost and away it went!! He run it to 5750rpm and with just under 14psi it made 252.5hp atw. He was checking
afr's with boost so rolled off the power at 5750rpm. Limiter is set at 7600rpm. No real timing changes made and afr's are still not where tuners
wants them to be. Wants it to be a bit fatter. Engine sounds awesome and very different to most turbo air cooled VW's out there. Starts making boost
about 32-3500rpm and by 4500rpm its on song and rearing to go!! Tuner is very confident there is a lot more in it with more time spent on afr's and
then timing changes and obviously more boost. Troy is going to drop oil, remove rocker gear and inspect, retention heads and a few other minor
adjustments then its back on the rollers to finish what was started today.started today. Big thanks to Rod Richardson for towing the car to the dyno
and back home and Dave Richardson for helping out where needed, organising lunch and keeping the tuner entertained with his cameras and filming lol.
All in all a good day and a few steps closer to getting on the track. 6 odd hours in the dyno room has taken its toll on my eyes and a headache of
sorts and after a shower still can smell sweet sweet methanol on me hahahahahaha

Back to the dyno today. All went well apart from one of the fuel pumps dying. 291hp atw on 14psi. Troy has the rest of the details....

Been a while between posts here and Troy has now run 3 meets in the car and collected a fair bit of data and made some changes to get the thing
running sweet. 1st meet at Warwick last year car ran great off the trailer and ran as fast as 112mph running deep into the mid 6's over the 1/8.
Second meet at Warwick in February Troy went a lil quicker again running 6.54@111mph. Made a few lil changes and saw some more improvements. Last
outing was at Willowbank in April running the 1/8 mile series. Few more tuning changes and a new on pb of 6.34@111mph. Best 60' is now down into the
mid 1.4's with just driving it off the line. One of troys mates also gave the car a coat of paint so it's now all the one colour as well.
Engine is coming out of the car shortly for a cam and lifter change, new pauter barrels, new valves and installation of clutch management set up and
also Ecu upgrade and get the 2 step sorted as well. Hopefully all will be ready in time for Warwick in October.
