Did i read that right? 9.5 inch wheels on a beetle?
Is that legal?
Anyhoo, i saw you asking about boofs taillights. They come this place in Brazil. http://www.brazilshopping.com/store/buglighting.html
If the Minister For War and Finance doesn't get me some for my birthday (have dropped plenty of hints) I will be ordering a few sets and am happy to
grab you some while im at it because the bastards charge something like $45 to ship 1 set.

legal? hell no! but why not bolt it on as a just to see if it fits for shits & giggles?
and yes, definately 9.5" wide, rears could theoretically fit an 11" but that wouldnt allow for sidewall flex if they were 11" wide tyres too, i
think ill stick with my 7s or 8s when its driving, im sure the friends 180sx will be missing this wheel soon enough

saving right? pics later, its not that exciting anyway.

in other news, my axles fit, shich means my engine is in, kinda, its been a fun day of lifting, nudging, measuring, lowering, measuring, tilting,
measuring, lifting, measuring, fingers crossed some welding happens before i fall asleep later, visitors for dinner wouldnt mind if i didnt come out
of my cave right?
and for the record this is a drinks break not just slacking off

negative, no sleeves on the bolts just yet, just test fitting, if you look super close the clutch pedal isnt actually welded on, its just slipped onto
the tube, the pivot/bracket next to it has to say bye bye & it replaces it, possibly with a tapped hole so i can skip the nut on that one, they
seem to work nicely with hand pressure/ no jerkyness no grinding/sticking so all seems ok, its on the high priority list of jobs to finish dont you
worry.
nup dont hit the pedals at the same time, the pedal pad for the clutch will be moved left almost in a straight line to the bottom of the tunnel/pan
join, brake slightly over so its more centered in the dent and the accel slightly right, just enough to be comfortable but not too much to ruin
heel/toe action if i ever get to practise it, ive used pedal spacings from wilwood/tilton etc as a guide & my feet on a board with measurements to
make sure they will work nicely with my flippers
oh, the original brake pivot can can be trimmed down now, no longer need it for referance, and... im stumped as to what goes where the 2 tapped holes
are infront of my new brake pivot, any ideas?? ive looked at other peoples pedals but nobody seems to have anything there....
sides -hope the convo 2mins after i woke up was in english or close enough to it, lucky i was intending on being up about then anyway

I think the two holes of which you speak are for the adjustable pedal stops that limit the pedal travel towards the driver.
Keep up the good work .

negative, the pedal stopper is behind the pedals, original pivot has a little lip on the bottom that sits up against it, suprising how much difference
it makes.
my thinking is perhaps

newsflash, the rears fit the same/similar with the real guards on, keep in mind theres no beading, this is with the new stock size bump stop mildly
squeezed, just before the jack lifts the car, not a bad fit hey? has about 1-2inches on the inside, SLIGHTLY lower offset required i think, +10 all
round should be the go as far as looks/driveability are concerned, shame its LOTS wider than 25mm biggger than stock allowed
i think you guys are right though, reub/steve they do suit, strange since i didnt think much of the style whenever ive seen them before, this might
sway me haha
also, my guard intake pipe is progressing... still has clearance with bumpstop compressed
not much though! sardine tin theme continues
silicone hoses may be consumables, or ill just use 1-2straight sections & have the corner in ally or something, that said if it runs at legal
height, they shouldnt be a problem

Hi
We bought the same wheels for David's Skyline 17x8 34ET, I love the look of them, they were $1080 delivered to our door from F1 wheels.
They have some VW friendly sizes if your running bigger guards.
I just dropped my Simmons in to be refurbished and altered for size.

Hi
I've been working on my bug today, not the wall, not the Skyline and not David's bug, my bug.
All the pedals are out of my car now, there is 3 groups of holes, 1 for the pedal stop, 1 is an end support for the cluster, the other 2 which are
closer to the rear of car but have never been used on my car, they were full of feropro. Must have been a bubo by VW.
You can just see the dimple for one of the unused holes in the attached photo.
I've ditched the CNC pedal idea but I will still use the CNC accelerator pedal and hook a morse cable up to it and run it down the heater channel.

Need me to bring a spirit level on saturday Dave?? I will go digging in the shed for one....
So, are you gonna get the rest of those wheels to roll on for the trailer outing? or are we going to be making a trip to your mums for the wraped
wheels? need to get the glass (and other goodies in the no dog corner...) from there anyway....
Steve, I want your pedals. alot.
