Club VeeDub in Sydney have their Sawtell Winter break on that weekend - I am going. Hopefully I will see you there? Sawtell is even closer to you than
Valla.

That's what I understood Hellbugged to be referring to, I think. I'll see you there Jeff for sure.

3 weeks ago really.
Went down to Swan Reach for a camping weekend with the folks.
On the way home the motor cut out. Seemed like it was vaporising. On top of that, the slighlty sloppy rotor button became a rotates where it wants
rotor button. The small tag that locates it on the distributor shaft broke. Try getting a rotor button for a 71 VW 1600 on a Sunday. Anywhere!
Result. RAA truck from Blanchetown to Waikerie. Night in the tent at Waikerie Caravan Park. Try getting a motel with an 11 year old Cavalier Maltese
cross (read vicious, room destroying mongrel!) (For those of you who've met Rosie you'd wonder how they'd turn her down!) RAA Truck from Waikerie
to Peterborough. What was in the spares box from the roofless SuperBug. Oh no it's black not red brown! But it fits and the Notch is alive again!

Bought my Drag Car home last Friday after delivering it onMay 10th. The shit continues. Pulled the motor and trans to repair an auto thats shit it
self on the Dyno last Thursday just as the tuning was being finished.Been in touch with the Guru and its already heading to the Gold Coast. Removed
both front glass guards that are now cracked and paint scratched which were not like that May 9th. Got them at local paint shop. Have modified the
exhaust to get the waste gate really close and better angle. Tuner reckons the 90 deg bend was too restrictive and causing boost issues. Looks like it
will be 2016 now before it will race.

What are those extensions on the frame horns for? The pipe looking ones where the rear trans mounts bolt into the horns?
Beaut set-up BTW. Could you give further information on the front suspension, home built or manufactured?

Just a "Finish" tablet.
I saw a few people discussing it here and there, and figured if it worked for them it would for me too.
I don't think it really cleans the cases better than straight degreaser and a kitchen dish brush that I usually use, but it is certainly easier!
I had to lightly rub the cases still with a mild scourer before a thin coat of paint, it came out with a chalky oxide on some of it (so was obviously
very clean), and a wipe of WD on the studs and on the inside to stop rust/oxides.

Fitted new door cards yesterday and today paid a workshop to replace the original rear torsion arm bushes and lube and adjust the steering box on my
'68 Beetle. Yes, I know I should have tackled it myself but these guys know exactly what they are doing on VW's and I am happy to pay for their
expertise
Cheers....Wayne

Freeze/release to lube the threads on the cheap torsion lifter tool coz the threads started slowly rolling over a bit.
So I chucked the silly tool and went to the tried-and-true jack method, the preload I put into it had too much tension for my liking.
Baby powder to lube the rubber torsion housing bushes.
Oh, and coz it feels nice on my tootsies.
