Great to hear how it went.

Would love to see video footage of it in action.

Have footage of you in the blue car which is cool too.

Shame I'm not going to be at Warrick to witness the cool lineup, including this wicked 54.

Crazy looks and crazy performance.. what are your airfuel ratios under boost...lots of contention between running a bit rich to compensate for the possibility of lean out under high boost..of course crisp throttle responce sometimes then lost.

What other supports did you use for rear apron?, I have one the same, although pondering attatchment and support for bumpers.

Car looks awesome.

320.6 bhp and very happy !!

well today the oval hit the dyno at SOUTH COAST ROTARY PERFORMANCE & DYNO-TUNE . Many thanks to Kevin for his expertise in Microtec engine management systems and getting the tune on the oval to a massive 320.6 bhp @ 5600rpm on 14psi boost .
This far exceeded my expectations , as I thought that I would have to put more boost in , to get this sort of power . Kevin was also able to find additional fuel and had to lean the engine off to an air/fuel ratio of 11.8:1 on full throttle . In doing this he explored the map in my ECU and found that I have enough fuel in it to run 18psi boost without changing injectors .
We tried to screw the boost up a little but the wastegate is currently fitted with a spring that would not allow additional boost . So I have decided to leave the boost at 14psi for Warrick , because I honestly feel that I am going to have enough traction problems with the oval running 320 @ the wheels on M&H street tyres .

pic 1- the oval sits in the rollers at SOUTH COAST ROTARY PERFORMANCE AND DYNO-TUNE
pic 2- Kevins laptop and air/fuel meter plugged into the oval
pic 3- the heat got too much for this strap . The exhaust is wrapped in heat-wrap , was then covered in a heat insulated blanket and then strapped . The exhaust heat not only melted the strap but also melted a hole in the heat blanket . To make things worse , we melted 3 straps this morning and the oval nearly lept out of the rollers .SCARY STUFF !!

if you do not already have a cage i get the feeling you will NEED one after your trip to the dragstrip..as if you hit 10's its a requirement or you cant come back right?

also, did you consider getting some ahh..somewhat supportive seats?

Yeh you are right . I am only going to get 1 crack at a run down the 1/4 strip in the 10's with the oval before they send me home to get a cage , seat , harness , and full tech inspection .
I don't have any plans to do this to the oval as it is a street car and should be used as such .Only have to put it back on Premium ULP to run it on the street , everything else complies with NSW RTA .
And what do you mean supportive seats ? Under acceleration the original lowback uprights squeeze into my ribs as I am passing through the back of the seat , and they hold me in tight !! Only need better runners on the floor and a stronger steering wheel to hang on . LOL :P

Wayne-Have got a massive exhaust heat problem with the Type4 in my Oval-after about 5 minutes running, the rear panel gets that hot,you cannot touch it and I am surprised it hasn't burnt the paint.I found this stuff by accident-it's about 25mm thick and is used here at the Steel Works for insulation somewhere in the system. Bloke I got it from lit an oxy cutting torch and held it close to one side and had his hand on the other-absolutely no heat transfer.I made a thin stainless shield to sit about 15mm off the muffler and squeezed this stuff in between then tacked the shield.Rear panel is now stone cold behind the muffler-but still some heat from the pipes going in-will ju

No additional supports were manufactured for the rear apron , just cut in a 'Z' pattern and strengthening plates at cut section only .
My bumper brackets are aluminum and the bumpers are fibreglass , so they look original but very lite .

Thanks Dave , the dyno is the same brand but at a different workshop . The first time that I had it dynoed it was at SOUTH COAST 4WD as Kevins dyno was out of action . This time it was at SOUTH COAST ROTARY PERFORMANCE AND DYNO-TUNE , where I have always had my cars dynoed .
See ya in a couple of days Dave .

after Warrick I will tell my computer guy to reinstall my scanner programme after it was left out during the last update and repairs . Will post dyno sheet ASAP and as you will see the power was still sky-rocketing when Kevin backed off .The more that he revs the engine , the more power it makes .
