I've been using the same one you have humpty on the notch
Was given it by a Subaru dude who had read comparison testing articles and it came out on top for bang for buck
1/4 turn gave a fair amount of pressure increase tho, from memory it was close to 2 pds for a full turn, take it slowly up!

That's good to know.... I have yet to run the car with this in place.... Fitting the new fuel cell currently.... Might see if I can get a little dyno
time when I get back from Sydney.... I'd like to get it base set before I hit the track.

I have but again wondered about mounting options.
I think being turbosmart product quality wouldn't be an issue.

This is the best decision you have made in your whole post Humpty!
Make sure you take along some methods of fuel and ignition adjustments.
1. Get it running,
2. Get it tuned on a dyno,
3. Drive it.
Always in that order.
Any other order is false economy,
especially on race cars.
See you in Sydney dude!

For me it would be a direct bolt on replacement for what's on my turbo... Easy as.

I've wanted to do it all along Dave, but the problem has been finding a dyno shop willing to help set the car up.... The wideband AFR gauge is an
awesome bit of kit, which I know has helped me hugely to get this far, but a little professional help is still needed, for such a finicky intake....
But I can tell you this.... The Holley is way more consistent and stable than the Weber!!!!

Thanks to what I witnessed on the weekend, the POS development plan has been ramped up a little....
I know I've been in denile for sometime, but we all know the car has finally made the transition into a drag/street car, as apposed to a street/drag
car... So I have finally made the decision to build up the 2276 that's sitting on the shelf..... This was always the plan, but it's gonna happen
sooner rather than later...
But I have a few questions on spec before I get it on the engine stand.... Cam is a WEB 86C with 112ยบ lobe centres, AA 94's from Rodney.... The
special Weisco copies in Mahle barrels, 5.4" CB H Beams, CB Crank and the other usual stuff.... So..
First up.... The heads..... Currently have some Wedge Ports..... Too big really.... Oval Ports a better option?.... Any other similarly priced options
that use OEM intake/exhaust flanges?
Second question?.... Head studs.... Currently have 8mm CroMo studs I got off Rodney.... No idea on the brand, but he says they are good to go... Will
they be enough for upwards of 15psi or should I step up to 10mm studs.... Options?

what about the superpro's

Hi Humpty, it was great meeting with you on the weekend at WSID ..... just confirm with Rodney that the AA pistons that he sold you are the
true-forged ones and not the cheaper version as he imports both types . The true-forged ones are the only way to go .
ATM we are using bugpack 8mm headstuds in Chris Boltons' 2387ml turbo engine at 15psi boost with no ill effect at all . We are getting perfect head
seal and making 238hp @ the wheels . If you plan to run a lot higher in boost pressure I would recommend using the 10mm racewear studs as I use in my
turbo oval . I would once again confirm with Rodney that the studs he sold you are superior quality , and if not he may be able to help you with some
.
Well done for making the trip across our great nation to be with us at WSID . Team WPVW

Well Chris.... I've been thinking and looking at a few different head designs that would better suit a turbo engines needs.... And I reckon the Super
Pro 044 heads from CB look to be a very good option for an 'off the shelf' head.... Slightly small intake cc which seems to improve velocity, but
with nice un-shrouded valves to get the gasses moving better in the chamber.... Flow is similar to the Wedgie's but with greater velocity... That's
looking like a step in the right direction....
As for the studs and pistons I got off Rod... He did say when I purchased them, that they will be more than up to the task of 15psi+... The pistons do
look very nice and the shop that did my balancing said they also looked and spec'ed up nicely... The race quality studs from Bugpack do look nice and
price is very fair too... The Raceware ones that Dave Kawell suggested, which you run too Wayne, do look rather special, but I think might be going
just a little too far for me.... I'm not searching for a 9 second car here.... 10's would be nice... But realistically, budgets must be set at some point.... I still need to get a decent
transaxle built... The current box is doing fine, but I think I'll be running out of gears when the stroker steps up.

Oh if only.... If I could get sponsorship to cover the transport costs...... It's only a dream.... 2500 bux just to get to Sydney and back.... I
doubt Warwick will ever see the POS run.... But I might make the flight over.... Just for a laugh.
Sunday was bloody funny Barry.... The trains were down to Granville, so I had to bus it to there... Carrying a couple of tyres and a rucksack got some
looks I can tell ya.... Then wondering around Central Station and Newtown was a laugh... But the biggest grins came at the airport check in and later
in Perth on the luggage carousel... People were double taking the sight everywhere I was going.... All good but.... No extra charge to bring them
back!

Used to be a Design Lecturer at university, but moved over to high school teaching 6 years ago.... Started out as a Design and Technology Teacher,
specializing in Home Workshop, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Fine Art Jewellery, Drafting and good old wood and metal work, but these days I'm a
Visual Arts (formally painting, sculpture, print making) teacher, but specializing in Media Production (TV and Film) and Graphic/Industrial Design....
Both of which have been my profession (prior to teaching) for the over 20 years.
By the way.... Put hotter plugs in the POS today and took it for a blast around the hood.... Man what a difference that made!!!... Gonna book it in
for some dyno time later this week I hope.

Just got word from VW Parts Unlimited..... My slicks are in transit!.... Yeah!
The car is done..... Been busy building a new engine and transaxle for the Bus last week, and have been driving it everywhere this week.... But
finally had some time to work on the POS yesterday and today.... The last little jobs are finished.... The last time I was at the track the officials
pointed out the crankcase breather was not legal..... Fuel tank is properly mount too..... It is now legal to race.....
Off to the dyno next week if I can book it in..... Stroker is this winters project..... And possibly a proper transaxle too..... Open to suggestions.

I didn't actually have one.... Only the OEM oil filler/breather was in place.... The one that has a an outlet to the road and a outlet that goes to
the air cleaner.... The don't like breathers venting/draining to the track and it's supposed to have a catch can devise built in.... So now I have
both.
