I gather you're planning to road register the car given your mirrors have indicators. I take it they are LED?? Photos with them working please.

Update from Boss Lady while Dave is finding stuff. Photos of the mirrors lit up, and a vid for authentic flashing motion. :-)

http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/STIDUB/075.jpg

http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/STIDUB/th_074.jpg

The vid may not work, so I might have to post a different link. We'll see.

Do you have a link for where those mirrors came from? I think I remember seeing them before and they were quite pricey, but they look the goods.

On phone so not currently, just search jeffreys japan & you should find it, or copy the photo i linked to off their website & work from there, minor issue with them, loctite cured it though, currently driving mustards Lbug (thanks man) so testing their real world user friendliness, seems good so far & his suspension& the roads ive been on today should of found any issues, but all good, will see how they go with headlights on the way home :-) lenses are mildly convex to, i like it

vison on both sides is awesome, they sit at a height almost the same as the top edge of the stock mirrors, works for me being relatively tall, also the actual mirror itself is the same size if not bigger than stock + the convex factor makes vision awesome, no glare on the way home so whatever they are coated in is great, similar to the blue bit on the top of windscreens? anywho bedtime, maybe after a refill, one day weekends deserve a drink or 7

I have already told her during the next school holidays that she has to help me work on the car. But in reality, this just slows me down and now I need to be careful of the paint :)

Mirrors look good and will suit the STIDUB.

ok people, ive cleaned the rubber shit off the 944 springplates, great job that is, turns out i am black, well was, bandsaw, linishing belt, then wire wheel on bench grinder worked a treat, came up awesome, but not a job i ever want to do again, very time consuming & meeeeeesssssyyyy!

pics later, oh swapped LH door over to the one with mirror hole, lines up nicely just how i bolted it on, practise is priceless eh?

now, do i run 1 peice windows because of the planned rollcage or do i keep the 1/4's in ignoring the fact they are then useless... im aware of the lack of sealing etc on 1peice but dont see an alternative :sniffle:

I was never happy with the sealing on one piece windows either when I did mine. The trick is to cut out the metal part of the seal so you can get it to follow the curve of the door and stick it on...

I have one piece windows. Don't really care about the sealing stuff, but they do run perfectly in the channels.

I've modded the dash so the front cage legs follow the windscreen and 'a' pillar real close. Can easily use the winders.

just been buying things over the holidays, waiting for shops to reopen then the ally work begins :D ac/dc tig welder time, have the pipe for water lines now, just gotta source a few bends/donuts that i cant do at home, hopefully will only have 4x hoses for the water system, ignoring the ones littered across the engine of course, oh and just for a laugh...

http://i975.photobucket.com/albums/ae239/STIDUB/Image2074s.jpg

the original VF30 just below it could almost fit inside the intake...

oh, nothing exciting just got some freebie wheels for it, ive heard rumours of a turbo ej20 ghia being parked next to my beetle too

dear beetle, why are you so mean?

been doing a few odd jobs around the bug while ive had a spare 5mins or so recently, now discovered my floorpans rear 1/4s are rather bent, not sure how/when this happened but id say its a jacking incident, only noticed after taking everything out of the interior to suss out where my turbo/exhaust/intake has to go

in short, we arent on speaking terms anymore tonight :grind:

oh in other news ive been saving for something...

Lesson for the day, the only straight/level edge to use as a guide on the dash is the radio hole, the rest is curved - must admit i didnt think of that, all good now though, just need to weld an extra bit to my new section
