yeh i agree.incar.
ok here we go with a quick run down.
i had a call at about 5 pm
question goes like this,
we have just done our first run and it sounds like we have blown a head gasket,do you have any,180hp
i jump in car to go retorque heads.
all tests were in 4th gear.always made power before 6000.
retorque first run again 180hp no timing no fuel has been added.
we then chased fuel for a few hours doing run after run,trying to make all transitions nice and smooth.
the carhas always dropped of @6000
last few runs we went wild on fuel and the car was making power to 8000 but wasn't producing any more than at 6000.
last run was 198hp @ 5800.
all the first power runs were good all of the second runs you could here the heads leaking.
so not a bad night overall but we couldn't get consistant runs with out head leak down.
so dave ,pete or anyone else out there,
what head torque should i be running.
i have been dioing it at 30 to 35ft pounds.
so i will post some footage when my fat controller rocks up this afternoon.

Are you running head gaskets at all?? Know of a few who don't run any at all..

don't know of any who do!

did you lap the barrels into the head?

lube the washers and studs when tourqing?

As above, what studs now, how is the case machined at barrel seats, details at studs and case inserts? Are they spot faced?
