Bit more done....
M&H Cheaters and front runners fitted to the ERCO's.... Man these things are light!
New fuel tank is in properly.... Ended up making a proper clamp strap to hold it all in correctly.
And the new turbosmart boost actuator is in and hooked up....
Thinking about pulling the tacho as it's kinda useless... And I reckon there is some weight to be saved around the car.... Things like the lug nuts
and such.... After looking over Chris Boltons car in Sydney, I'm getting a little focused on saving weight.... Fatboy needs all the help he can get!

It's totally drag now Barry.... Still a streeter in presentation.... Lights, seatbelts, seats and such, but I doubt it will ever see the street
again.... Hence the thinking about hole saws and cutoff wheels....
As for pics of the engine.... Have some on my photobucket account if your interested....

I'm thinking about fitting another breather off the fuel pump block off point.... Currently have the turbo draining there.... Would the be any issue
with both items connecting there?

I'm really looking forward to the 2276 going in this winter Andrew..... Then I'll have a gazzillion horses under the engine cover too!
But in the meantime.... Matt Keene's awesome car has some very creative holes cut into it.... Not a lot a weight gaining apparently, but it looks
awesome!!!
The doors have plenty in there, and the windows of course weigh a ton.... A couple of mates in Adelaide have fitted a RLR cage in their car..... Looks
brilliant, but do I need to go that far?
This is madness!!!!!

Really? Haha...
The RLR kit is pretty easy to build, nice kit, there's lots of time in fishmouthing the ends (esp door bars etc that connect on angles) but it is
kind of satisfying to see it come together. And you do get quicker at it as you go.

I'm investigating fitting a kill/inertia switch for the fuel pump and I'm looking my options....
I have bought two EDIS kits off Boost Engineering a few years back.... Both kits came with the FORD inertia switch...
Are these any good?.... Are there better or simpler options?
Lay it on me fellas.... I'm all ears.

One option that's quick and easy Simon (since you're running a carby), is to ground the fuel pump relay through a basic oil pressure switch. If the
car decides to cross the line on its head (God forbid), the carby floods, kills the motor, no oil pressure kills the pump. It was pretty common before
EFI.
Another option is a "tip switch" off a late model EFI bike from the wreckers, should be cheap enough.
You might like a momentary switch that bypasses the oil pressure switch to prime the bowls.

That FORD Inertia switch is just like the 'tip switch' that you mentioned.... To run this I won't have to run any extra wiring in the car.....
Might go with that.
Cheers Dave.

Hey Humpty.
The inertia switch is an impact switch, it is a fuel cutoff switch . In case of an accident it cuts power off to the fuel pump.If you bump it
against anything the ball inside will dislodge and create an open circuit. Over here at the Ford dealership I rarely ever had to replace them. The
connector was available from Ford as a service part. Hope this helps, Mike

Hi mate we made the additional breather hoses/breather box drain into fittings welded on rocker covers and it works fine . on the previous "V" motor
we run it up as you are talking about but it was not enough

Good to here Mike..... I have started fitting the switch this morning... Along with painting a beam and cleaning the shed..... Just about done with
all that...
As for the breather idea Chris..... I have the breather from the oil filler and the rhs rocker cover going to the tank.... Figure that will be enough
for now.... But when the stroker goes together I'll add another at the top of the crankcase just in front of the shroud, behind the flywheel flange
plate.
Cheers for the advise guys.

So the new engine will be going together in the few weeks... Gonna do a trans lift at the same time, but one thing that I'm thinking about right now
is fuel...
I know the larger engine should be better suited to the carb, exhaust and turbo, and I can get E85+ locally for about $3 a litre. Have been hearing
that it's a far more stable fuel for a car that sees no road use and will not kill the plugs like I'm currently experiencing.... Chris reckons I
should go Methanol and I know Ian and Rose are using something else that's a little special, but would like to hear from others.
What you gurus suggest?

Methanol for a air-cooled race anything is a no-brainer, but that's just my biased opinion Simon! You could really run the thing on Unleaded 91 if
you want.
One thing to consider about methanol that may not be mentioned in others opinions possibly, is that it can help keep the air/fuel temps stable
day/night, summer/winter (once you have a handle on tuning to suit it), which means consistency. The more runs you can get, the more shiny Commodes
you can send home........

I'm over PULP Dave.... That's the reason for the query.... I know the 'E' fuels to be more stable, and I know meth is better for a cool consistent
charge, but the hassle of draining the whole shooting match is something I'm not sure I want to deal with.... Prolly just being lazy.

E85 will want regular draining and cleaning the tank and parts too.
I think both Aaron and Henry have opinions on E85, perhaps they will share.
If I was not a Methanol man I would be a Premium Unleaded Dude.
