the run was over at the end of second gear anyway Steve.

Mine has done 8.3@84mph taking it easy off the line, so yours should do a 7 easy as you have an extra 70hp @ the wheels than mine.

but it's the 1/8th mile, who cares?

He was taking it very easy and getting wheel spin off the line. New car first run down the strip Craig. Just bedding everything in. Knowing the car well i can say it would do 11s all day and 10s with slicks.

Hi

I think 10s or 11s is a big call.

Maybe I could have launched harder if I did a burn out, I was getting better times almost every run, but in the round robin leading up to the finals wasn't the time to do this, I should have tried it during practice.

Hi Matt

No offence taken, I'm going to sort out my fuel heating issue hopefully this week and I will go out to WSID for a try on the 1/4.

You can hear the fuel pump in my video

is that the G50? wow not bad at all, pretty light if you ask me.

go to be better than muscling out a 120kg "light weight" auto from under a car.

That's not too far off mine Steve, the cab is about 1200kg fully wet with all the leather, stereo, sound deadening and chassis strengthening, cabs were always heavier anyway and I think I must have started with the heaviest type of bug every produced!

Doesn't stop it being bloody fast though! I also find that it has incredible traction, it just squats and goes...

Hi Rich

Thanks for the info on your cars weight. It looks more weight just needs more boost to compensate.

I just over engineered the chassis mods, I used mostly 25x50x3mm RHS. It weighs 3kg per metre.

I don't know the weight of the G50 or the STI motor, does anybody know where I can find this info?

can't find any specs of the engine apart from someone claiming 400kg lol

searching around, G50 is about 66kg.(146 lb) still light considering if you ask me. Many gearboxes I have handles weight more than double this with less gears

Steve, whats weight of car with driver or is that like asking a woman how much she weighs?

My Fasty tips in at 1050kg but I also keep adding crap to it. With your power mid to high 12's all day is very achievable. If I can manage a mid 12 with a 2.2 60ft, similar to your 60ft then sub 13's here we come. Harder 60ft and obviously better results.

BTW she is looking very sweet, cant wait to see it in flesh.

1971 Type 3 Fasty - EJ20T

I love 242HP sleepers.

How many sets of lights does it take a $229k Carrera S to learn? UPDATE: Cayman S, M3, B4 now added to the list.

Hi Andrew

I tip the scales at 100-110 kg, don't get many to the ton.

I'm sure it can go quicker, it just feels wrong to try for a hard launch.

When I sort my fuel heating issues I will take it out to the creek for a test.

What sort of 1/8 mile time did you do?

Last time I weighed my vwrx it was 950kg without me in it.
Heavy compared to a stocker but is so wel grounded with the additional weight and didn't get blown around in windy conditions like my 750odd kg 58 beetle did.

what one extra irs diff unit? that still doesn't compare to the heavy ass live axle that the falcons have, their engine weight more than 250kg and gearbox over 120kg. Their bodies were renown as heavy as well.

where the hell is the weight in a wrx???
