Hi All,
Entries have now closed for the Sydney Showdown 2013 and I'm pleased to say there is a healthy field of 83. Last year we had some late entries, so
I'm confident we will reach the magic 90 number to keep the show on the calendar. Of course, if you have a valid excuse (eg; my ECU went through the
wash and is still drying) then drop me a line and I'll see what I can organise.
What about the weather I hear some web footed entrants ask? If you are a Portland Victorian veteran, you wouldn't be asking, as the weather changed
by the minute, but Ray Treasure and myself will do our best to make the show happen or give as early notice as possible if we are certain no racing
will occur. That's the best I can offer at the moment.
For the newbies, your tickets, etc will be waiting at the track for you. For those arriving on Friday, please come and see me. For those arriving
Saturday, your passes will be at the main gate. Your gate pass is your key to racing, so don't lose it. Also, every driver receives a Volkswagen
Genuine Parts goodies bag, and these must be collected from me at the VWMA tent.
Other than that, have a safe journey and I'll see you on the track (maybe - Grahame Rumballe and I did finish the MK1 track car and I may get a
chance to drive as long as everyone behaves and has all the right gear...).

It's not seeing that's the problem, getting drowned by by the ratty cracked windscreen rubber for hours on end can get to you after 12 hrs

i have an empty trailer, long ramps for lowered rats and a nice dry T5 for the trip home

Yes, it's not allowed to rain on drag racing dates.
Too early to call and weather being weather we all know how fickle it can be. At Portland 2010, it poured right up until 9am race morning then changed
to heat stroke conditions for the rest of the day.
Sydney race management will discuss options with me on Thursday should things look certain to be damp.

I hope it all works out for everyones sake especially Craig.....however, everything i'm seeing says rain for Saturday and 50kmh winds.
The rain we're experiencing here in Brissy is heading south. I'll look forward to Craigs decision Thursday.

I will still be coming down although my car is slow as s$&@. As for being beaten by NSW thats ok, its still a fun time to be had. Safe journey

We have our fingers crossed - we're going to wait until Friday morning to leave. I'm guessing Craig will make a call by then. I really hope the
weather we have experienced here in SE QLD in the last few days doesn't head south as predicted, this rain has been crazy.

Well after much procrastination I'm out. Every weather report I see is moderate to heavy rain around Penrith at 90% chance. If it was chance of a
shower I'd risk it. Needless to say I'm disappointed but shit happens. If it goes ahead good luck to all.
