Also, I don't think I had mentioned earlier, I have a pile of MPH to KMPH stickers for sale, I have one on my bug.. Keeps it looking old and stock...

The aim of the look of my car is to be on original old granny looking car, just a tad lower, fatter wheels on the back, and go like a rocket.

Pulled the dizzy out to bolt the weber down nice and tight and found that the thread is stripped. So will have to deal with that when i can. :grind:

In the mean time, we have the car up on stands and we are replacing the front and rear slave cylinders, rear shocks, and rear wheel bearings.

Got new headlight bulbs in...

Doesn't look too bright in the photo, but are actually very nice!

Also fixed up my rear bumpers - i thought they were a bit wobbly, and realised these spacers were missing. Got some more, gave them a squirt, and on they go!

Then i pulled out the floor panel, wire brushed and sanded it, then primed it. I did this because it was all rusty on the bottom.

Pulled the pedal assembly out so i could wire brush underneath and install the accelerator repair kit. :)

This spacer was all rusty, so i treated it and primed it.

Also the cover as all rusty too, so i did the same.

Also put a new fuel pump seal on as i had one spare and the old one was looking a bit ratty :)

As for the thread to hold the Weber in place, plastic steel didn't work, so we will have to re-tap the thread.

Will keep everyone updated when i can! :D

Also bought a VDO temperature sender ~ more updates soon!

Another small update,

Got some Rust Converter, and painted it all over the affected areas at the front of both pans and the firewall to prevent further rotting before it comes to getting the repairs done.

If you look carefully, you can see the pin holes in the battery tray...

Please excuse the bad pictures :D

Till the next update :)...

Also got that cover and spacer painted... Pictures coming soon...

Floor panel was a bit of a disaster, i did the painting at night time, and when i cam out in the morning, all the mosquitoes had stuck to it :grind:

Anyway, had to chip them out, give it a light sand and another coat.

Pictures also to follow :)

Amazing work for how old you are buddy.

Are you doing the welding yourself or getting someone else to do that?

Epoxy Mastic 121 works great. Apply it by using a mini foam paint roller. Get them from your local Bunnings or Masters.

Once again, well done! :tu:

Thanks mate.

Ok. Have been told the same thing by the guy that is welding it for me!

Yes, avatar is real, by brother was mucking around with the 1300 engine in it, revving it up, turning the key off, pumping the accelerator, and before it coughed out, turn the key back on and KA- BOOM.

We took a video, and screen shot it when it got to the spot :D:lol::lol::lol:
