Introducing Gertrude

This is Gertrude, 08/1970 Type 3 Variant (Squareback), 1600 dual carb, original engine.
Has been sitting in dry storage for the past few years, time for her to shine as my daily driver for now.
Delivered in South Australia.
Worked hard on her for the first weekend, did all new fuses, traced wires and resolved all electrical issues (except the horn, waiting on the ring behind the steering wheel).
Ordered new front brake pads and Vintage Speed exhaust from Boris at Vintage Vee-Dub (great guy, and very helpful), put them on on the 2nd weekend. Registered her and am already using her as my daily.
Have list of parts that I want to order, but mostly I just want her as my daily and as is, and in 12 months am looking to return her back to her former glory.

Jed;s Notch

Just an update on my Notch since my earlier post, now sporting a few accessories that were on my Squareback, original weather shield, roof rack, wheels and dress rims. The venetians are the latest addition, a Christmas present from my wife. More to come!

Current type 3 is a 67 fastback. Have had quite a few early's over the years but never had a fasty. Always loved the squares the most for practical reasons, but really digging the sportier lines of the FB. The 69 SB was moved on a few years ago to a guy in the next suburb.
