As we live with a lot of tourists driving
kombis you don't get the wave often from them.
But we have a group of us VW enthusists who live around here local & always get the hand out of the window wave...
makes you feel good that others share your passion ....
Stay Happy

I'm selective; I wave at yellow and white 1975 T2 double cabs. So far, business is slow.

Dang Rob, I can't believe we were both at the Autofest and didn't catch up! We've chatted on the forum and in email too!! Oh well, next
event! I will have to wave if I see you on the roads

I always wave when I am driving the kombi...but I had my 1st experience driving a beetle the other day, holy crap!! how do you guys do it?
I learnt to drive in the kombi and the kombi is the only car hat i have ever driven.
I shook for like half an hour when I got out of the beetle...you sit so low how the hell can you see anything, and oh my god, the nose!! you
can't even see the end of it!! tiny windows, 1st look in the side mirrors and i nearly shit myself they are small!!!!I don't know
miles!!!!
I am not trying to bag your passion, but thank god for kombi's!!!!!
Although I have to admit about the fourth time I drove the beetle I was starting to relax and it was kind of cool....but if another vw had passed
there was no way of releasing the steering wheel from my deathgrip!!! :o:o:o
I am still too scared to try to park it at the shopping centre...I can do the kombi without blinking, but you can't see the front of the car in
the beetle!!!
phew...sorry anxiety level was raising...is there a trick to parking when you can't see where your car is?

pray! nah the beetles are quite smaller than kombis and sedans and the like. you can get away with being tucked into the park. Hate driving a normal
car after being used to my bug- always get into trouble having the back end stick out a mile!:P
i'm a brisbane bugger, wave a bit, would probably get scared if someone flashed me. to me that means there's cops ahead and i probably
should slow down!!

The guy who sold me my car told me that its only polite to wave to every vw you see.
I have alwys done this.
I hate it when i wave to people and they look at me like
'what the hell are you looking at'.
Its so rude, there needs to be more VW spirit. :bounce

I had the best wave the other day. I was hooning along in my baja and i see this pretty much white stock standard beetle coming from the other way, i
gave my normal one handed wave to the young female driver???, and then i thought "screw this, I can do better." So i chucked my entire arm
out the window and waved as we passed with her doing the same. It was fun as! I was smiling the whole way home... I wonder if it would be possible to
do a high five? though if you're both doing 80kms in towards eachother then your hands are going to be slapping at 160kmh! that might beak a few
bones... |

I like waving to other Kombies when I am in the Kombi, and Beetles when in the Beetle. Although I look at all VW's whenever possible and I wave
back when any one else does.
I also like to wave to little kids, because they see a Kombi and especially a Beetle as a familiar shaped car.
One kid today had his eyes popping out and mouth wide open as if he had just seen a cartoon character cruise past.
Kids seem to notice bright orange and purple things.

While out fixing my beetle on the road today some kids punched eachother up when they walked past. I thought it only fair to give them a thumbs
up:thumb
Not really wave related, but it is funny to see people inflicting hilarious punches to other people when stopped at traffic lights. |

I always wave to kombis, but beetles never seem to wave back so I sometimes don't wave to them.
I'll always return a wave from any car! Even if it's non-vw, it might be a dubber borrowing their partner's car.
