unfortunately I am now stuck in townsville and find it difficult to get time to access the net. I think if you came to brisbane firday night and crashed at someones house it would be easiest. the convoy is leaving the BP at 7am, and the BP is almost an hour north of brisbane. so picking up at the air port at 7am won't work for anyone.

Well I don't know what to say other than that. It used to be near Burpengary but they knocked that one down and built a much larger BP with a macdonalds as part of it a little further up the freeway. It is somewhere around the Morayfield / Caboolture exists. When your cruising up the highway you can't miss it, a big BP with a macca's joined onto it. It is well signed.

6 days to Go !!!!

With 6 Days to go the Buggy gods said to me - fix you own damn buggy or everyone will laugh at you :(:(

It seems 40 L of fuel for 160km is not a good thing for a Fraser Trip and rear shockies shoudl be bolted on properly :(

6 Days to go:

Fix Shocks
Fix Front Bar
Fix Rear Bar
Fix wipers
Fix headlights
Fix UHF
Fix Fule Consumption
Service Engine
Pack camping stuff and trailer
Get tent and BBQ
Finish Frog's Baja
Fix Troys Buggy

I think that is about it...

Lucky there is 24hrs in s day and Jen goes to teh USA lunchtime Wednesday

Almost Buggy Season on Fraser Again :thumb:thumb:thumb:thumb

Brad, instead of the word "Fix", use the word "modify":D then it doesn't sound like anything is wrong with the buggy now !!!

I wish I was coming !:cry

All systems are go!....well mostly. The story of the gearbox saga continues. In the course of one day, saturday, my Dad and I ended up with a supposedly good gearbox and another beelte in the front yard! this time when pulling the box out of the baja we decided to pull both the engine and box out at the same time and then pull and join them together on the floor which made getting to bolts and stuf a hell of a lot easier. So far the gearbox does work in all gears though it is a bit tricky to select them and it pops out of 2nd when you are changing down but it's better than it was. The new bug has a 1600TP engine apparently, in good nick, original blue colour, a small amount of rust and most of it's interior intact. We haven't worked out what year model it is yet so i'll get some pics up soon, but i'm pretty sure it's a 70's one. Bring on Fraser!

Boozer, which is better? popping out of 4th or popping out of 2nd?? If it is jumping now it will only get worse, and bouncing around offroad wont help either....
Have fun at Fraser tho.....
Wish I was going.....:(

yeah true but it only jumps out of 2nd when you are decelerating and it's not as bad as before, so it will do for a shor time.

Rebuilt the carb linkages, modified the jetting and am taking it to the Dyno in 10 mins.

Pic it up there tonight and then pull it apart and modify the rest.

All is on track for another early saturday completion. :thumb:thumb
