Hi PPL
I spose mostely it comes down to whether or not the person driving the car/Kombi is a VW person, I had a Beetle and a kombi at the same time for ten
years, I always wave to another VW whatever the model. There is a lot of PPL driving VW's that wave to no one, I have waved to other Kombi's
and been totaly ignored or had looks of "Who the hell are you" thrown at me.
If you are a real VW person, that loves VW's you would wave to the driver of any VW. so lets all make an effort to have unity in the VW
FAMILY...

Try driving a country buggy.......the entire world seems to stop and stare in disbelief when you cruise past with the windscreen folded down. Any body
would think it was a UFO....lol. Oh yeah try finding a country buggy model anywhere.
But i wave at most volkswagens some wave back some look at you wondering if your staking them...........well maybe if they were driving a
splitie...........but i must admit water cooled dub owners in general just don't get the sub culture we all enjoy. Keep on dubb'n

i guess it depends on what suits the individual as to whether they have a beetle or a kombi. i have never really thought of owning a kombi but still
appreciate the effort some put into their drives. After seeing some Kombis up close recently i can see what the attraction to them is. As for the
wave debate.... i guess if you keep waving at people all the time and don't quit then eventually it should catch on to all VW drivers.

WHAT ABOUT THE NEW BEETLES ?????
I find it interesting that some of the Kombi drivers find that they are " left out " of the Volkswagen world. How do you think that I feel ?
I am the owner of a new beetle, owners of the original beetle think that I am a stuck up yuppie !!!!!! (which I am SO not !) I wave to all VW's
sometimes my waves are under the dashboard so that people don't think that I am a total loser ! Maybe we should put stickers on our cars which
say " we are wavers " so that other VW drivers know that we are VW nuts and will wave ???? |

I like the " we are wavers" sticker idea lol
Ive been a kombi owner for 6 years and I thought I was one eyed kombi, they were the best .....then 6 months ago I needed to get a small economical
run about car to put the kombi into restoration..of course i had to stick with the same family so I bought a 67 beetle, its fab, runs on a smelly
rag and flyies.....I never thought Id say it but I love it just as much as the kombi now. .......Recently my son was purchasing a car and had the
choice of a kombi, bug or fasty, he chose the fasty, Ive driven that a few times and bugger me dead if I dont love that just as much as my kombi and
beetle now....
So Ive come to the conclusion after tasting all these volkswagons I love em all, Im totaly in love with all volkswagons !

I think If you just keep waving at any type of VW you spot around your local area they will eventually get it and wave back. And I agree all vw's
are cool

I like the sticker idea too. Also - I also drive a nissan x-trail for work - and when I see other VW's I want to wave! But they would all wonder
why an X-Trail is waving to them!!!!
Maybe we should have stickers to put on our non vw cars so people know where our hearts lie?

thats funny surfkombi. as i ride bikes and drive vw's. on bikes we all nod at each other as we pass. and in vw's we wave. so many occasions,
i have been in the vw and nodded at a biker. they turn with a strrange look. or ive been in a neither of the above vehicle and have waved and nodded
respectively. its become like instinctual habit. the woman jsut laughs as sometimes i dont even realise that i have just nodded.
