I am an audiologist.
I perform diagnostic hearing assessments, as well as prescribing and fitting hearing aids. Pretty good job, would want to be after 6 years total in
uni study, plus one "professional" year supervised work before becoming fully qualified.

Well, I have done a few things, last ten as a Registered Nurse working inpatient/community psychiatric team.
Before the anyone asks most of this list are completely nuts or suffering varied levels of obsessive compulsions of the veedubber subset......... Its
the totally sane ones you have to watch
Hardest job was as a Nurse assistant in the '80s. Before lifting machines. Some of those faaaat 'ol hieffers are REALLY heavy.
For the record, working as a brickies labourer was easier and much better headspace.

after sufferring 4yrs of Uni, I am now in my 5th year out of Mechanical Engineering. I am due to become a chartered professional engineer with the
IEAust, if I pull my finger out and write some reports.
Anyway I am maninly a stress analysist (of metals, not people), using some fancy FEA programs to calculate the stress in stuff. Do a lot of machine
design, and existing equipment strength checking. Again mainly in the mining / processing industry like Mick_H. Get to work on some big cool stuff
like a 1500tonne shiploader in Australia, a 1000tonne stacker reclaimer in Hong Kong, and a 700tonne rotary kiln in aust, large smelting furnaces,
plus many more cool things...
The car is a hobby...

I'm another Mechanical Engineer, 4th year out, I work as an Equipment Support Engineer (basically a mechanical maintenance engineer). I help keep
BP's Kwinana oil refinery going, work on pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping all that boring stuff
Unfortunately I dont get to use fancy FEA programs like wes does (closest I ever get is some pipe stressing).
Who do you work for wes ? Sounds like someone like AMEC, Hatch, Worley etc etc, big consultancies.

Well I am a full time Uni Bum doing an IT degree. :P Last year almost done :thumb
Each fortnight all the donations you nice people out there have given to little Johny filters into my Bank account and lets me keep doing what I am
doing. Little Johny even pays my HECS fees, medical, dental, super contributions, and a heap of other stuff.
Long live Little Johny
Seems pretty boring compared to some of you others out there :thumb. Oh well at least I am in Australia for the rest of the year :thumb:thumb.
I have nothing to do with the Car industry apart from my hobby and spending a lot of Tax payers money on my projects, too much my lovely wife would
say .......
Oh well better get back to the pool, it is a work day you know !!!

Private Investigator.
Self employed and mainly working for lawyers and insurance companies.
And no I dont do matrimonial stuff.
Too hard as the one you are working for ALWAYS tells their partner that they will have them followed.
Wife is a barrister so we are sort of keeping it in the family.

I then did Mech Eng at TAFE, wound up as a Tech Writer for a few years and now run the workshop for a defence company.

I finished uni a year ago studying a double degree in IT and Marketing
While at uni a had a couple of jobs:
did fragrance modelling in Myer city where i got paid to talk to chix all day
I also worked at a Wendys ice cream van during big events like big day out etc. Use to hear some funny pick up lines from chix - ' can i get a
chocolate headjob thanx, sorry mean hedgehog' my fav line was ' would u like nuts with that darl '
Run my own computer company helping IT illeterate people use their computers
And did a bit of Fat Pizza extras work
After finishing Uni found out that the IT sector was crap took me 2 months to find a job but then the company i worked for went bust, luckily i got
headhunted and started working for another one.
And after that i got offered to be a State Manager of a Melb based IT company which im loving!
I do a bit of modelling still occasionally and still fix people computers on the side
the things we do to finance the mods on our cars
