Brad, the car would more than likely be an import, but that speedo isn't the original one mate..
That is about a 65-66 speedo, during the conversion from MPH to KPH. Take the speedo out, it will say on it somewhere.. eg. 7/65 In my opinion they
are a good thing, just like your ex-owners Uncle said, because you have the best of both worlds.. Keep in mind that that 'donut' ring is factory
from my knowledge, or at least not like the face stickers you can get.. But obviously, the speedo influenced the production of the face stickers..
I'm sure you've seen those before.. They have kms on them and stick onto the outside of the speedo, thus converting MPH to KPH.

Hey Jim, the transition to KPH happened in 1974, so that throws a different slant on it. I think we'll find that all speedos prior to 74 will be
imperial/MPH. I just heard from one of the blokes at work that you could buy the "horseshoe" card from Repco to suit the more popular models. He
still has one for the EH Holden he had. I reckon this is the original speedo, and while it would be nice if it was something a little bit rare, I
don't think it's the case. I know the other type you mentioned that adheres to the glass.
Thanks mate
Brad

Found the books!
Pleasant surprise today. Family of previous owner found the books. All there in plastic cover. Plus original Owners Certificate that shows date of
first registration on December 31, 1959. Whew, just made it! Also shows indicated mileage to be correct - (still on first time round). Plus receipts
for comprehensive reco, and a very nice newspaper article on the model.

Review from early 1960 states when describing the interior enhancements for the new model, "Courting may not be any easier, but driving or being a
passenger is considerably more comfortable in the front compartment."
