The misses 78 Kombi - 2L auto Carbys, with moderate load 2 adults + 2 small children & couple of big heavy bags each. got best of 26mpg travelling at 90Kms on the not too hilly section travelling North from Coffs.
You can definately see the fuel economy go down at 100 or more. Went down to about 22 mpg when 110 at all oportunities (not up hills). Did not run overly hot- mid Oct.
Also I believe that we had Pemium Uleaded in when did 26mpg.
Previously Had a 77 Auto EFI that did 17mpg with fairly big load , Syd to ACT.100kph.

that is what I would like to get, we are up to 17.75 mpg now & just went on our first longish trip outside Sydney because we have a 1000 ks up on the motor, sits on 100kmh easy but you use a lot less throttle at 90kmh, it is stil using a fair bit of oil though, high mark to low mark in about 250ks on this trip. I fitted a vacuum guage to see just how much throttle I am using, with the auto, if you are stuck on a hill that is steep enough you below 80 kmh you are ratshit, you are then faced with either heaps of throttle intop or heaps of revs in 2nd.
