Dyno Day
I should have the Golf Ready with Oettinger cams and the chip . It last made 85 KW at the wheels . It should make an easy 100kw this time . I'm
negotiating with forced induction on the VR6 , hoping to have it ready by the nationals for my G/F to race . Maybe low 8's if I'm lucky .
Anyway , the beetle is going slowly and wont be ready till late Feb at the earliest .
I'll be happy with a 9 flat out of that motor (if I can get it down there this year )

Well, Bug_racer, your VR6 will certainly show a higher read-out than my stocker. I guess it'll be good for you to compare the two cars to see
what gains youve made though. What kind/type/brand of forced induction are you looking at? I contacted a mob over in the US a few months ago about one
of thier super charger kits but at $12thou sent here and fitted, I just wouldnt be able to slide that passed the boss...yet.

Forced induction
If your interested I'm most probably going to sell all the Hipo gear I've got to make way for a turbo . I've thought about
Supercharging but your very restricted to boost and there is a real limitation power wise . The kits cost $4000 US and only give 250 hp at the
flywheel . Turbo kit for the same price gives 300 HP . I found a guy selling a kit second for $3500 , comes with everything but the turbo making 625
hp . The Turbo will set me back about $2000 Aus for a reco one here . So the stuff ain't cheap . But when was the last time anyone saw a Golf
pull a 12 second pass at the drags ?

im out
Guys my crank split fair in two and one head somehow has a hole in it.
Most probably from using incorrect fuel but usuing a higher RON fuel was something my mehcanic neglegted to tell me....

At anyrate im looking at a couple more weeks before he can lay his hands on a new billet crank and rebuild the motor.
So im not going to make it....
Im really really really REALLY p'o'd!!
I had the engine only 3 weeks - a week of which it wasnt driven due to my mechanic not tightening the bolts on the alternator shroud or the alternator
strap which equated to the alternator coming loose and spining around to take out the fan and stuff the generator itself.....

cant wait
looking forward to seeing some results.
i just read the vwtrends dyno test article, and am a bit sceptical about those yanks.
looking forward to seeing some honest australia results, of cars that can actually be driven comfortably.
any t4s other than the 2800 ball tearer?
oooo what about a comparison between a 1916 and a 1943 just to dispell some of the latest arguments that have surfaced lately...
... hehe just stirring the pot:kiss

See Y'all there.
I'll drag the oval along to make up for the no-shows. I'd be happy to get close to 100hp at the wheels. My guess is about 85.

Who me?
That probably would've been going over circular quay on the expressway. My car is almost a regular fixture on the bridge.
My oval has been in daily service, earning it's keep, for the last couple of months. The engine seems to love being driven alot. The paint
doesn't like it as it's living outside. I've given up counting the stone chips.

I'm pretty sure I'll be there as spectator. Will take the kombi up. Dont know if I'd want to dyno it even if there is room. The noise
of cars on dynos is very scarey to me. Sounds much less severe from inside on the highway.

the reduction hubs will just give you more tractive effort, and a slower speed. Same HP (unless you count extra friction).
I saw costa the other night, sorry CT

Just do it man. It will all be relative. everyones car will be in the same temp.
There are ways of calculating the horspeower with conversion factors for temp and humidity. I dont know what they are but they're out there.
Im definitely coming up for the look now. Is this a grog day? bring the esky? BBQ somewhere?

It is a Silverwater....... i work just up the road.............lets just say the "scenery" isnt exactly ......... ahh...."nice"
There is a pub around the corner on Parrmatta Road called the Wentworth. It does have one of the best beer gardens around.
How about we congregate there after the fact and discuss the affair over a few "sherberts"
Either that of we fill your bus full of ice and chuck a few slabs in!

I go.
They got food there? I could bring a BBQ. I wont be cooking for everyone though. BYO cookyourown.
The beer is not for myself. I dont drink. Just the devil inside me doesnt mind a few.

It is about 2km north of Auburn Mosque.
The food at Auburn is GREAT!.......just not the "scenery".
Good take away / pizza / laska etc etc. Would have to be the multi cutural centre of the world.
Counter meals at the Wentworth are excellent as well

just bring the Spyder and an other German watercooled V6....same group of companies though.

Speedster-WISD Nats 05 14.4s @ 89 MPH
