The trusty RBT shirt eh LOL. But you guys did chip in and buy me one to look the part so should I wear that one instead??? Or is it time for team shirts????(colours to hide stains from working on cars would be nice!!) should be a good weekend with a decent field in All motor from what Ray Box was telling me the other night.

We took it for a run at Willowbank last Wednesday night. Car feels safe and sound with new cage and seat. I managed 3 two-step launches . 2 were OK. Pete might put some video up when he has time between building and maintaining all the cars. Thanks to Pete and Dave B for looking after me on the night.

Rod had 5 runs ,best was 12.16sec at 108.88mph .Best mph on night was 109.65mph and best
60ft was 1.602 . All so half track was quick at 7.64sec 88.86 mph but top end was a little off (Air ,humidity ) We made a few carb changes but didn't ,show any gains .
Car times should be good 11.90's with the above mph and sixty foots .
Happy but no eleven sec pass gives me a headache!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the Crown wheel and peanut is broken.
It was a Klingelnberg 4.125. Perhaps a stronger tooth form next?
Good excuse to change the ratios for more rpm!

Rod will most likely run his engine in the chop top car for the Jamboree Re-run.
Perhaps elevens in that car?

Second that one dangerous. There was a lot of metal in the oil when we drained it and a few bigger bits as well. Troy also could feel some larger bits of teeth through the drain hole that wouldn't fit through it. So it should be good to see it when Pete pulls it apart. In the mean time Rods engine into the choptop for the Jamboree. Now that should be good!!!

Mini Jam is on the week-end after Portland so Rods car has to ready before hand . Dangerous has work wonders again repairing tranny .
Over last week-end fitted all back together and finally fitted spring plate retainers ,found that the bushes pounded out quite bad on both side of car. Had to pop spring plate down off stop so to get bolts to line up (longer bolts ).All so found outer right side with rust pits ,that wound damage new brass retainer ,so change spring plate .
Decided to leave out inner urethane bush .They say that the brass bush free's the movement (travel) up ,which helps car taking off and stop toe in when everything pushes forward (worn bushes ).
Was looking for a test run at track tonight but weather looks crap here .!!!!

There was a storm out that way just after lunch. My neighbour was out there on a drilling rig and it poured rain, thunder and lightening so doubtfull it TnT will go ahead as weather is mighty unstable.

Good to see the spring plate retainers finally in their new home Pete!!(and the right ones too)

We have put the new 2387cc motor back in car after a few issue's ( oil pressure poor , too much comp , oil o-ring missing from flywheel ) Dangerous went through engine with a fine comb and all things fixed . Have drivin beast around alittle and all well so far . A couple little jobs ,then back up to willowbank soon .

Fantastic stuff!! You guys must be itching to run this thing.
What's the go with the fuel line, has it been redirected to avoid the bellhousing? What's the theory with the heat shield?

Can't wait for the updates.

Not a lot of cooling system on this engine and with the fuel line running where it is vapour lock could be an issue?

Thanks vw friends , getting real close . Dave , fuel line comes in behide left carb and thats where reg is mounted .Plus I wanted real simple setup that I didn't have to crawl under car to adjust fuel pressure and this car keeps changing motors on me ( Rod can't help him self) . Yes Brennden is correct too ,Lots of heat from stanless exhaust , all so running pully and front tin to help keep heat out .
Maybe next week out to track if all stars line up .
