And here is my 2 year old on the back seat.
One of her first words was kombi , as when she asked her mum, "wheres Dad" her mum would just say "Kombi".
These seats are just in for a couple of months as we have friends coming over from England for a holiday in a few weeks and after they have gone back
I will be doing a camper type interior, with a rock and roll bed and seats and a table, but no cooking stuff.
Cheers
Dave

love the checked lino in the back,
in fact, the whole car is awesome. congrats.
and I know what you mean about project cars and unhappy wives.
btw, I had one of those air cleaners on my old bug, it got totally clogged when i did a Khanacross and the car kept cutting out on the way home, as
well as belching flames out the exhaust
mmm, but then maybe you won't be doint that much action on dirt, right?
then again, you might want to blow some flames ya self

That's so wrong, ClassicVW
Dave, awesome effort dude! I love the shiny paint pictures and the engine's come up a treat.
Do you have the early resto pics? You really should invite the VMA guys to do a story - that's one very nice bus.

Roy.
Whatever anyone offers it wont be enough.
How do you put a price on the 3and a half years of pleasure and pain in restoring a bus.
The days wondering if a certain part will fit right or look right, the weeks, no years deceiding if you should go with your first choice of colour or
not(I went with my original choice)
The 3 and a half years of missed weekends with the family,
The pain in the arse dealers who ripp you off and then say a part will be in in a fortnight and you end up getting it somewhere else after waiting 3
months.
Sell it you must be joking I am not going through all that again.
A mate of mine took over 5 years to do his and when I got mine I said mine would be ready in 12 months, little did I know
Took it out today to a party of some vw friends and got a very good reception, so Im happy.
Cheers

thanks for bringing it around today dave, and for thanks for coming around too, hopefully we'll have a bit more time to catch up next time, and go
for a criuse or something.
For those who haven't seen this van in the flesh, it's even better than in the photo's.
My hat comes off to a man who does a total resto by himself from start to finish.
good work Dave, your Car is a credit to yourself and the hard work you put into it. I know it will draw a crowd at the volksfest in a few weeks
time.

Twoguns.
It is a daily driver if I get a scratch Ill fix it, it is only metal.
I havent spent nearly 4 years on something not to use it as much as I can!
They were made to be used not show queens, I am driving mine every day, thats why insurance is costing me so much.
Whats the use of having a car you are only going to bring out for a show.
My split has been done to my standards and in a way that it can be used as a daily vehicle.
At the moment it has the seats in the rear as we have friends coming from England to stay with us for a few weeks and when they go back I will be
fitting a rock and roll bed so it can be used as a camper. I have a Just Kampers tent/Awning to go on the side.
Cars, use them or lose them!
Cheers
Dave
