I hope to get a run in the car before I take it down, but thats not looking good at this stage. I have run the motor for about 2 hours and I'm changing the oil but maybe I'll get to take it to the pines...... Harvey is only a test anyway

For all that are interested,

I went out for reconnaissance for the race on Saturday night for the FIRST drive of the car……. Driving in single file (slow) I decided to give it a bit to see how it went, well it goes like the clappers and only to find I had NO brakes (almost wrote it off into someone else before it started):o. One of the front brake lines had come lose and the tilton bias had jammed on to full front. Needless to say after recon and we fixed the brakes, I was a little put off but we still got second in class for prologue. Then in the first round after 2 and a half lap’s "I" ( and it was me ) smashed a CV to bits giving the car a belly full of fuel over a big jump.
So to cut a long story short the car was a DNF but I still came home with a trophy for best presented.

All in all it was still a good weekend and lookout next year…..lol

Photo’s will come later because there 35mm not dig:P

bugger about the little problems. at our first race with the class 6 we lost a clip for the tappets but still managed to limp home. but when i got the jeep i put a hole in the head and filled the engine with water but that didn't stop us it was a broken tie rod at 90km and the lack of stearing that ended our race.
well hopefully you will sort out your problems and enjoy yourself. i see that the national that is being held in WA is coming along well.

I got this (hold thumb and forefinger a gnats dick apart) close to seeing your car and saying g'day onthe weekend. We were on our way (the wife and I) down to Bunbury for a housewarming and stopped in at Harvey to say g'day to my mate Stuey (the dipstick at the start line with the flags), but they wouldnt let us over the other side of the track (at like, 2pm) to say hello so we thought f%#k it and left.

I think I could see a blur of orange in the pits from the canteen ...... looked good from the distance !

What sort of CV's have you got ? I'm guessing it was the last jump on the front straight (canteen side) ? that did it. It doesnt look like much standing next to it, but some of the big trucks and class 1 buggies get HEAPS of air on it. Max Pilmer especially.

Hope you enjoyed the trip anyways. Good to hear it has turned a wheel in anger !

On the CV's, do you know Troy from Vee Dub repairs and spares ? Runs a class 2 buggy I think, used to have a passat motor in it, but has now gone 4AG 20 valve route. He was showing me a lovely meaty, shiny Porsche axle that was going in his buggy...... sounds like it might be in your future ?

I feel sorry for you knowing Stuey.......lol.
And you hit the nail on the head, that was the jump. I run 930 cv's with molly cages but it wasn't the cv's fault (it's a long story).

Did he do his customary half time antics ? Like running the length of the track ? Or a little cowboy dance ?

I'm sure he was dropped on his head as a child.....

I've known him since he was 12, and he was a groomsman at my wedding.

It mustnt have been the CV's fault if you have 930 CV's, I dont think they make any stronger do they ?
