Flying Colours

Jak's car is passing everything (That's open to interpretation).

It passed it's engineering certificate.
It passed it's pink slip.
And yesterday it even passed the Central Coast Highway Patrol test.

With all the P platers going splat in modified cars the police are cracking down. The officer pulled over Jak and started giving him a hard time. True to form Jak escaped scott free with the guy showing a lot of genuine interest in the modifications. Apparently a few highway patrol officers in the area have kombis with subaru engines.

I thought it was a good story worth sharing.

Last week I went to Newcastle twice for work, wound the speedo around to the bumpstop 3 times, took a client for a drive when I got up there, (he didn't beleive that a vw could be quicker than his boxter) & drove it daily here & there, used about 3/4 of a tank, bear in mind I havn't had the computer tuned properly on the road yet so the fuel economy will be even better.

I installed 2 new steel lines through the tunnel of the car. I have a standard electric fuel pump & filter that feeds a 1.5 litre Alloy surge pot, which then feeds a VL Commodore Turbo fuel pump.

Yep , as I said, there is a fuel pump & Filter that feed a 1.
5 litre surge pot.
I have a return line back to the tank from the fuel pot.

I ended up getting a water to air intercooler from a liberty, I don't think that the air to air will be that effective in the back of a beetle, u are relying on the weather & correct air flow to combat inlet temps, with the water to air, I can control water flow, radiator position etc etc.
