It's a half decent 1200 1965 model I picked up on ebay for
$800.

Already stripped and half sanded by now.

Type 3 Cop Car

I saw this Type 3 in a mag a while back and thought one day I will do one of those! It was done in Sweden and had a big motor and porsche wheels.

Cheers

Steve

How about this... I took the photo with my phone camera in a book shop. It was a book full of car crashes mostly in Germany. Almost every photo had a beetle or a kombi in it. The photo is shithouse but you can see it's a split window police bus..

Love that type3 Steve. It was my inspiration for getting my old type3 to do that too. But alas it has just sat for years in the shed and probably will be sold or just keep sitting.

Hey Sax keep us all posted on the legailties of this as I have a panel I might like to do this too. I would probbaly go down the green and white polizie path. Even had the lights up until a few weeks ago when i sold them. I am sure i have a few more lying around somewhere. Will keep ya posted if i find them.

Something like this would be cool. I am not that good with photoshop so couldn't add a light or anything.

With regards to the legallities of having Police style lights on the roof of your car, if they don't have the capacity to light up, then they're not "lights", are they... And if they're mounted on a surfy bar of some description, then they're not actually a part of the car either...

So, in a nutshell, go for it. It'll be so cool...:bounce
