It's not a movie, but that singer Craig David cruises around in a Karman Ghia in one of his video clips.

If you love Type 3s, you won't want to see the original Gone In Sixty Seconds from the early 1970s (not the crap remake with Nicholas Cage)

HB Halecki is driving the yellow Ford Mustang, Eleanor over a bridge. The cops are on his tail. One cop car slides out of control and whams into a nice white Type 3 fastback, which spins around and slams into the wall. Ouch.

You also get to see a huge VW dealership in the background earlier, when HB is stealing a Dodge Challenger using a tow truck.

Great car enthusiasts film, that one!

Old enough to remember 'Alices Restaurant' , Arlo Guthrie (son of Woody), one of my most fav songs of the '70's and have it on the original vinyl:D

Were there any VW's in the Hendrix DVD? Also unable to get Woodstock on video put was told it is on DVD. From pics of the event I did not see many VW's, mainly American cars. Hmm, was more into the music and the .... back then:party

Hendrix was/is a legend. Loved 'Band of Gypsies' so much:kiss Oooh, can hear the music now:alien

Just watched willy wonka (taped it for kid yesterday) the opening scene has a white beetle and possibly a type 3. From then on its wall to wall VW. Every street scene has a VW. Also a 356! Bit of a collector car movie I think. Lots of citroens and early BMW's. Once they got inside the chocolate factory I gave up and came in here to get online. Hope there were no oompa loompas driving around in hebs.

he he he,
saw that one as well. Have no real idea what started the punch buggy thing. Never knew it when I was at Uni (Lived ina c ave obviously.... but a cave with beerrrrr........ mmmmm..... beeeeeeerrrrrrrrr)
As for the Broons, got a book from an ex a while back. Laughed myself silly at it, I think Aust gets both UK and US stuff and likes both (Generally).
Yeah, as of today I am now in 'the 35'' so I guess I can now say I am middle aged (well average life can't be much more than 70 here, factor in work etc, rather than a nice simple existance)
I aklso have Alices restaurant on vinyl though, so if anyone needs/wants(/knows it) on CD let me know and I'l copy it over.

Sad, but true

Okay
am willing to admit to it, I watched six days, seven nights tonight with Harrison Ford and Anne Heche (?). The car that picks them up (Anne and Ross from Friends) from the airport is a thing :D and there is a couple more in the background as well along the way.

Went and saw "Final Destination 2" last night. The main character's family "owned" a silver New Beetle. When she drove it up to her house, it sounded like a diesel.

btw, the film is crap. Don't see it unless you like seeing people being killed in grisly circumstances. Predictable from start to finish, so much so, the last ones to die although burnt to a crisp elicit a laugh from the audience. And yes, the black guy dies.
