If that electric Type 3 is charged up by plugging it into the mains via a charger, then it is not environmentally sound as IT RUNS ON COAL.
It would have to be recharged by wind or solar to begin to be environmentally sound.
As it is, IT RUNS ON COAL, coal is about the dirtiest way to generate electricity and that SUCKS MAJOR.
Recently one of our state governments (NSW?) has bought a whole lot of so called green cars that plug into the grid to be recharged. They are
therefore not green as THEY RUN ON COAL.

Not necessarily correct I have 4.4 KW PV solar on my roof thats green My powerpoints are green. Also anyone can opt for green power on their bills and
pay more thats green.
But greenest of all is the fact that the car is still on the road . The how many priuses will still be on the road in 40 years. That means that the
resources used in our old air cooled are being well utilized thats green. Mitchell

Yawn.... I'm so bored of that bullshit argument.
Its wrong for so many reasons.
Agreed coal isn't the longterm solution, and battery technology still has some way to go, but the emissions produced by a petrol internal combustion
engine can not be seriously compared to the modern electricity generation process.

Hi bus914.
Firstly. That is not steam it's condensation or artificial clouds.
Secondly. I knew that and also that the chimney emits the pollution.
Thirdly. Are you saying that a coal fired power station is cleaner than a well tuned car engine? I doubt that. Coal is dirty, no matter how well it is
burned or how well the emissions are scrubbed.
Fourthly. Please explain how my earlier statements are BS.
Fifthly. I repeat. An electric car that is charged by plugging it into the grid, almost everywhere in Australia, where the electricity is gained from
the burning of coal, RUNS ON COAL and that that is not desirable.

IF the government gave every fat person a stationary exercise bike.... We'd help cure the obesity problem and lower health system pressure.
If we put a dynometer in every bike and hook it up to the grid, we would solve our carbon fuel pollutants problem!
Then we can plug our type 3's into our bikes and be on our way...
or as the saying goes... be
'On your bike'....
Just my 2c
A few million Aussies doing 20 mins a day with the bike plugged up to the wall socket could have an interesting effect.
