Hi NB,
Are you going to run a intercooler behind the Fan shroud?
You could fit a plenum and cooler and then you wouldn't have to run the pods on the side.
I have been researching this quite a bit lately as I trying to get the whole lot to fit in engine bay with a normal fan and I think I have found a way. The way you have set it up looks very similar to some of the setups in the US which have proven to be great but with the extra space you have I think you could do better. Email me and I'll send you some ideas.
Looking good!

I'm not going to fit a turbo-just injection with single centre throttle body.I have to plug the ends and fit a cross over pipe and the TB mount.Haven't built it to turbo-set the CR too high for that-running 9.5:1.

Hey NB

sorry didnt reply to you email my inbox got wiped. The red looks awsome, did you spray it or was it red gell coat? What size Type 4 is it?

A little update on my car, not much has been done just getting things machined again and again. Put some new tyres on my Simmons and put them under the guard as its on jack stands. OH and make some brackets for an RX7 oil cooler under the front bar. ( I know its gonna look ugly but sometimes things have to be done.)

I bought it with a red gelcoat-but it looked shithouse. No, I had it painted in a 2pak with some clear. The motor works out to be 2733-82x103.It's got a forged C/W crank and forged JE slugs.I see your using the same front guards as me.I can only get 7 inch wheels under my fronts and still clear everything and have a decent turning circle.

Alex,I need to run an extra oil cooler as well.I have bought a fibreglass extension to fit a Type4 cooler to a Type1 fan shroud( Mike Sharp makes them) I also bought a thermostat sandwich plate for the oil filter and have made a box using the fibreglass extension to house another Type4 cooler, and will fit it behind LHR wheel with a 4inch flexible hose going forward to a thermostat controlled fan, alongside the trans. Will only need 2 real short hoses from the filter to the cooler.Hope that makes sense.

abit more progress.

Man school gets in the ways of progress on bloody car!!!

Anyhow...* Ive been busy latly rewiring the engine bay as there was just too many wires in the one area and it looked like a major mess. So ive moved the wires back inside the car and i have put the wires through the firewall straight to their location.

*I made some copper oil lines up, running from the rear to the cooler under the bumper and back again. Now just waiting for funds to build up again to get some braided lines and fittings...

*All my brakes are now on and have been bleed. I am running EA falcon rears and our custom big brake setup on the front ( porsche rotor and twin pistion brembo). All painted lookin spanky and ready for some hard use!

*I used some wider hubs to increase the front track of my car to make it handle better, so the wheels now didnt fit in the guards so after 6 months of seeing my car 1 and half feet off the ground i put her on the ground to start hacking my front guards to cover the wider front track. (takes guts to take a grinder to the paint work on your car!!!) its all good doing one side but then you have to make the second side match!!!

and and and and ummmmmm need more money and i can finish!! so close now!

Alex

Hahaha, The yellow dub has been around for many many years and has been for sale for awhile and has just been sold. This car is PERFECT, has all factory parts and has a very nice streetable 2L with twin webbers. Nothing neck snapping but definatly goes hard. its a show car and the gear box has been painted black with the ribs yellow! and bits and peaces are yellow underneath.
