Are any of you running your VW Caddy 1.9 TDI on Biodiesel?
If so, what can you tell us about performance, etc?

I had thought about it.. However, we have just had it's 30k service and it's fuel economy has become so good I'd probably not bother right now.
(10.7 kms/L)

Thanks for the reply StenGun.
I might use some Biodiesel mixed with "normal" Diesel to improve the lubrication of the fuel. The Low Sulphur Diesel we use in Australia is not as
"slippery" as the old stuff.
Caddys are in short supply at the moment and I am a bit worried about the quality control now that Volkswagen is "restructuring".
I hope it all turns out OK.

Ordered a VW Caddy 1.9TDI with DSG on May 31, 2006.
I have started a Home Page and will keep it up to date with the progress and modifications I will be making.
The site will have some interesting links for VW Owners and those people using Mac Computers.
The site is:

I had a look at these at the dealership (Quite a rude dealer might I add).
Nice and sturdy, decent rear axle size and plenty of room to put lowering blocks on em!

I had our Caddy delivered in October 2006. Love it.
I have installed a second battery (75AH Thumper), Wireless Reversing Camera and a Fridge.
Insulation of the roof and sides is in progress.

2007 VW Caddy Type 2KN 1.9 L TDI with DSG
We now have used our Caddy for 5 months and are very pleased with the vehicle.
This is our first VW and we would buy one again.
The TDI is great and is running on 100 % Biodiesel.
I am averaging 6.7 L /100Km (the same as on Petroleum Based Diesel).
I am inpressed with the quality of the build, compared with our previous vehicle (1996 Landrover Discovery).

Arie

I am very interested in your Biodiesel Processor. Can you give me advice on cost, setup, resources etc? Would a processor the size you have feed a
fleet of (say) 4 TDi's (2 caddy's and 2 transporters doing about 800k/week)

Biodiesel is not recomended for my T5 128kw as per owners manual .You have to change oil every 7500 kms and fuel filter every 30000kms, very
expensive. It is not worth saving a couple dollars on biodiesel. Installed PD chip from berrima diesel, output now 155 kw, 8.5l/100k.

My 50 Litre Biodiesel Processor is on my Website and wouldn't be big enough for your use. You can however step up to a 370 Litre Hot Water
Service.
I will give more detail on my Home Page in the next few days.
