Hi Alex,
Last time I saw you , you were about 5 years old....now I feel like an old bloke!
Being that I am an old Bastard, I don't have the knowhow to put video or photos for that matter, on the forum, but I will probably be down
there at Easter or when ever the VW nats drags is on.
Hows your brother and Dad going?

Hi Dave
Just went and got Zoom out of the work car, I made a mistake, sorry. Its said
All motor record is ET 12.19 P Page SQ Volkswagen Beetle/VW W/Bank 09/04
MPH 105.77 M Forward Chrysler Galant/ Mazda 13B WSID 03/04
So does this mean that you will have both the ET & MPH record now?
Zoom now have Jason O'Haloran writing a column for them now.

Actually that record is correct but it is now owned by a gemini. Pete had the old record at 12.25 in Rod's streeter, which also ran an 11.92 the same
day but it wasn't within 1% of the 12.25...or something like that.

Hi Dave
Reading the All motor rules on the ANDRA site it says "1.1 Engine: 4 cylinder or 2 rotor engine only; all others prohibited." So it looks like the 3
rotor cant run, hopefully you can get the record at Jamboree.

Hi Dave
ANDRA site says: Minimum weight, VW air-cooled stock "type 1" case only: 1750 pounds, otherwise 1950 pounds.
Would the Pauter case be a problem, if not, what about a type 4 case.
Hermann.

Hello Hermann,
as of Sept 1 aftermarket cases and heads have been accepted.
My man inside Andra says Type 4 engines are OK as are WBX cases.
If the engine is all water cooled(ie WRX or WBX incl heads) the car would have to weigh 1900lbs, up from 1750 as air cooled.
Hope you can commit to the class!

Well done Dave, looks like your getting there....Good move on the windows...Loads saved there! But you new that!!! But surely you could save a few lbs
in the wheels....Steelys must weigh a bit? Is that body still a double skin job? How about the old 'gasser' trick....A bloody great hole in the
roof!! Just jokes! More suggestions as they come to light!!
Keep it up...So envious!
Hey Doug...
Dont worry about the lack of fast street bugs in Perth...Hermann is working on getting my old car finished with his N/A TIV (U should see it!) and
he's already on the look out for a car to fit the Turbo donk....My turbo 1915 is in the works as soon as the Ragtop is on the road and my brother is
looking to start on his Ragtop also. Bernie has just finished his stroker and Kurt is piecing together a stroker WBX for his supercharged LBug...And
appartently theres a hotrod Fasty getting about.... When you gonna buld something?

Lost the plot a bit with the tune up, but 11.664@112.64
12.829@106.01 missed third and by the time I found it the race was over,
11.789@112.42 clean run but as I said, lost the plot as far as tune up is concerned.
Weighed in at 1807lbs(820kg) with the plastic windows.
There was a damn Honda that ran a 11.54 so it looks like I will have to try harder!
Best 60 footer was a 1.565 which made me happy considering the weight of the car.nn[ Edited on 18-9-2005 by dangerous ]

Kind of Craig, What the hell are you doing up at 5am?!
I thought Financial guys sleep in till 9am...even on week days.
Only joking!
It has rego plates, but it looks pretty light...but then so are volksies.
To be fair, he's making alot of power and it is probably heavyer than the volksies.
EDIT!
Car is not a street car but ONLINE PERFORMANCE's new AllMotor Civic. It weighs 803kg and reset the record at
11.54, but ran as quick as 11.3 I think at 116...perhaps some one keen can confirm this as I was going from
memory.nn[ Edited on 18-9-2005 by dangerous ]

Found a glitch in the fuel system but first round was on .
So I guess I will have to wait till next time tocontinue with the program.
That's 12 runs on the car so far.
MPH:107.04
111.63
112.75
113.09
113.78
113.95
114.5
114.77
112.64
106.0 (missed 3rd!)
112.42
112.33
Aside from the fuel system glitch and missed shifts, the
MPH changed with the air quality.
Last run was at 1099ft rel altitude and
the 114.77 was at 34 ft.

This is really interesting stuff. What comp ratio does your motor run Dave ? out of curiosity.
Didnt realise the rel elevation would make that much difference to mph.

Ta Dave. Is that pushing it for a drag air cooled engine ? or is that on the safe side ?
Is this on pump fuel ?
Sorry for the 20 questions, just curious....

It is very safe since I run methanol.
For drag racing and with methanol there is
rarely a problem with the heads getting too hot.
I can run 14:1 with just a barrel
change (soon).
Petrol based fuels with good octane, like C14plus
and C16
can run OK on 14:1 but the head temp goes up real fast
and then power goes down.
In general I would suggest the higher octane fuel on air cooled heads than the same
comp ratio with water cooled heads.
