Thanks everyone .

The rear tyres are 31x10.5 M/T. They fitted under the guards with out raising the car.
But will be put coilover shocks front and back in the next week or so and lift the back by one notch aswell. Now we can't wait for the end of October as this will Igor's (BAJA) first off road trip at Crystalvale park.

Yes it was a great weekend not only did get to spend a weekend with some good friends, we got to play with a beetle and ended up with a BAJA.

It was most definitely a low cost package deal....................car was found on the side of the road sitting for a loooonnnnngggg time and when a club member approached the owner, was told that if it was taken away we could have it for nothing. Club member knew we wanted a Baja, so passed it on. Blue kit cost $120 and $50 for 4 rims and tyres. Swapped the 14" front rims and tyres for a Baja exhaust, and all the guards and bumpers for the front bumper and cage. Got the 2 front 15" rims for $20 (needed sandblasting and painting) and bought the front tyres for $100. How low cost can you go!

Well had some more fun with the BAJA today first up I took to the channel that holds the front boot seal with a hammer and chisal and chopped it out . Then I got some pinchwall and seal and pushed that over the lip to seal the boot lid.
Next was hook up the donaldson with a bit of fiddling about it is hook up .

Oh and forgot to say that we had to build an engine out of 4 different Type 3 engines to go into the car..............Number 4 conrod was hanging out of the case, in the engine that came with the car.
Marc says it was a special ventilated racing case??????????? ;)

Hasn't been off road yet as we are still doing things to it................but it will definitely be having fun at CrystalVale near Murwillumbah, when the club goes camping and off roading. Anyone who wants to come is more than welcome.

New beam

Hi Peoples
It's been a while since I up dated this thread so hear goes.

Over the past week I put another front beam in as the old one was a ball joint drum brkaes and had sagged on the right side after a few trips off road.
I also put new bearings in and a new steering box I had laying around as the one I Took out of IGOR felt very tight in places.
and pumped out all the old grease in the beam boy was it s*$t house looking grease, all nice and clean now.
Below are the pictures.

Marc

Bricks on grass hey? She'll be right! ;)
Nah seriously, enjoy the discs. Has the new front end got adjusters
or anything? Looks like you've got new guards since I last saw it, you'll have to post a picture of the complete car.

Yah got a new set of front and rears (New to Me) rears are wides.
When we paint it I have a set of wide fronts to go on.

The drum brakes were good never had any trouble with them I am just getting lazy and don't wont to adjust them all the time .
Sadly no adjusters, when we put the kombi geabox in I will have adjusters done then.

and hopefully this one won't sag on the drivers side.

Bricks are good LOL I always get the jack set up under it aswell.
