Compresion test, cooling ears, stone guard and awning
Just keeping everyone in the loop. Comp test came out at 145-150 which is meant to be quite okay. So this definetly reinforces what my mechanic is
saying abut the pressure in the bearings causing problems with the oil light. He is also going to change the spring to see if this makes any diff to
the pressure so that the oil light isnt activated when i brake. Will let you know what affects this has.
Cooling ears have been located so they shall go on this fri (fingers crossed) and (Pete) I rang roof rack world they havent sold stone guards for
seven years which they thought was quite comical BUT am about to check on some of the big auto stores up this way.
MY biggest problem is the awning... A brand new one costs $250 for one you have to put up yourself every time you stop (and then i think i may as well
just stick to a tarp and tent poles) while one that attaches to the kombi with a rail goes from $800-$1500. SHOCK. If anyone has any ideas.....
BIG SUPER cheers for all the advice so far

bike rack
Hi Peter,
The bike rack set up is great. Did it allow for easy access to the engine and did you make this yourself?

Surely roll out awnings for house windows can't be very different from what you need and surely thay can't cost as much as you were quoted. I'd
check with a house awning specialist

me nearing the end of my trip. i have to recommend an annex, perferably one with walls. mine was made by a company in Clayton Vic in the 50's/60's
and honestly took 1 min to completely setup. at this stage there was 3 of us in the car, so as you can see we were sitting a little low.
