kit

ok i knew this would happen so i will tell ya i spent 2 days at the rta with photoes and engernears reports and receipts also infomation on vw based kit cars from the 60-70
BGW made and still makes rod kits mine is based on one of these it has yo be a nos kit or a copy of a kit using pre 1975 parts to do this you will have to do your home work and get proof of the kit and design
this car has beeen checked for normal rego and will pass but as i only use it on club related outings i can't afford to have it sitting a home 360 days a year doing nil
it is in the RTA records as a 34 ford vrod replica on a 1971 pan and body parts
rules are rules and i followed them so that there would be no troubles with the RTA or my club so for other people well that don't count
you can historic rego 356 porsche myers manix and many other early kit cars BUT MENTION HOTROD and all get excited all i can say is DO YOUR HOME WORK the word HISTORIC is important not vintage and as there were a very small amount of these cars made they truely are endangered and need saving
this car is apart more than it is running not because it's broken but because i'm always trying to improve it to the origional look so if anyone knows where i can get a 40 ford bonnet i will personally hump your leg in gratitude
greedy

one non vw part is the front seat the rest is kit or removal and as for no likeness look close and remove parts and add bits as nearly all v rods were built around kits and not as kits that is why they were rods and not manix or 356 or mg's or eureka's or sabers or do i really have to go on i have been do this research for 2 years and maney hours with the RTA not a friend or a service station but the government and if anyone has done anything with government they will know i had a tough time to get this far and i am ready for the rest

replica of a replica... hahaha.

there aint no kit bits on there. and no offence steve, i like ya, but i reckon you hoodwinked em, and good on you for it. i am happy you got it thru!

but dont you guys tell us its a 'kitcar' or any crap like that. a replica of a kitcar is soo funny. its a bug with some fatchick flared guards on the back, none on the front and a chopped roof. and a couple of bucket lights.

would like to know which club youre a member of, as i would like to join and get a car or too on plates. can you assist us fellow dubbers with that, please?

kroozzn that pin stripping is great, and not just because u've only just started.

Given the others I've seen on the forum, I reckon this work would stand against them any time.

The fact ur a beginner, well...can't wait to se how well and how much u improve in a year or two.

And yeah, have no idea why the others didnt bother to comment about it (heaps are usually so happy to critisise others work)

Anway, imho you did good. nice lines, pretty even and symetrical...just the way stripping should be.

I won't comment on the car as that's not what this thread is about.

The lines...
Hard to believe you're a beginner. Good control of the brush and excellent symmetry. Though sometimes the lines benefit from a few asymmetrical areas.

My only negative criticism would be the spacing. Stripes look best when there is less space between them. Not covering so much area might improve them - that would tighten the design. But design comes with time and tuning your eye to find the right spot of the car and how much to cover.

Keep it up kroozzn.

nope, your falcon isnt over 30 years old, or listed on the historic vehicles register. putting that idea to the rta would be plain stupid.

Im not trying to start an argument here but....I can see what your argument is for getting this vehilcle registered but the the reality is those replica's look a little bit like 30's fords. Your replica of the replicas just looks like a beetle with the roof chopped of and no front gaurds and a crap spray can paint job! (with nice pinstipes though). It bears no similarity at all to a beete/ford kit car let alone a real ford!!!! Personally I think its just Fugly, but thats only my opinion.

I hope rat rod lynch mob isnt waiting for me at the shootout!!

greedy. stop now.

you have pulled it over with the rta, and like i said good on you for it.

but you, i, and everybody else here knows it aint no more a kit car, than a hack job convertable, and if you jsut put those flared glass guards on the front that is what you would have.
you got away with, and you have opened a huge oportunity for many more to try. what you gotta watch is that you dont get many trying to use your vehicle as an example when they all start trying to register their 'Grease' mobiles (thats what it looks like), cause the rta is gonna turn round and go 'sorry mate, but we made a mistake and we are revoking your rego!'

and kroozn, keep up your effort mate... good to see some one adding to the vw scene. you will get a kick arse rep for sure... you and ur ute!

Bugger it... I wasn't going to comment on the car.

Wouldn't that thing require an engineers report?
Roof hacked off. Roll cage below drivers head. Windscreen size decrease. Those wide rear rims. The width ratio between front and rear tyre.

Funny how the RTA says anything requiring an engineeers certificate is not eligible for historical rego (other than conversion from mechanical to hydraulic brakes).

Good for you greedy that you pulled it over their eyes. Possibly not so good for those who have legit historical vehicles under the scheme.
