I can tell you now I am all for 1stcarbug giving it a go.
I personally have never done candy, so I cant give any professional advice, based on experience.
What I wrote in that one liner was me basically being a bit of a joker and the combined LOL and would definitley be showing that.
1stcarbug if I upset you I'm sorry. I just prefer to either write helpful facts or in this instance, it being out of my league ( it's true folks, I
don't know everything ) I had a joke, and I sorta intended it to be on me in a way.
1stcarbug I am supporting you, as I support anyone doing anything on their own car. I never say never. People said I would never be able to build a
limo and get it registered????

if you want to see what a positive attitude can build. Built with pennies and hard work, not a chequebook car.
As for negative personal comments directed to me. *shrugs shoulders* I won't waste my typing time to reply.

my brother painted his gfriends gemini in this same color, he has had a fair bit of spray experiance (done a few cars before), and trust me it lookied
like shit....and the gemi is a little les curvy than a bug!
not trying to through my 2cents in late, as im a newbie here too and even though i read alot, i post little.....but i would consider getting a pro to
do it...if you do all the prep work it might not be to much $$

cheers for the sipport finally helbus, always thought you seemd alright, das i figured you would have the can do attitude, seeing you bug over the
build time has made me want to do mine sooner rather than later, and exactly right, i may completly stuff it up but its something ill be proud of
having a go at, unless it looks like absolute rat shit, but hey practise makes perfect, and ive had practise on other stuff before, and wans quite
good at it aswell, if i was hopeless @ other paint do you think id still bother wasting money on really expensive stuff? im making a bug im proud to
say i did almost all of the work on, thats the sole objective, other than enjoying it, i have ZERO intentions to make it a show pony / trailer queen,
to me thats just a pointless excersise, its built to be DRIVEN, thats why its called a car, anyways apperciate the positiveness, despite the fact it
took a while to come out, cheers everyone

give it a shot yourself. why not.
the sense of satisfaction of completing the job will well be worth all the headaches along the way.
nice colour too by the way.
looks similar to this

nice one crewcab.. glad to see my advice was some help
FCB i'v painted a little bit of kandy at trade school, it is well hard to keep the strokes all overlapped the correct amount to get an even look..
but it can certainly be done.. practice on a board first.. the trick is not to get lost in the lines of the car.. if that makes sense..
thats why you need to run up and down the side of the car, cos it all hastta be even... its a bit of a headF$%k but looks awesome when its done
ask heaps of questions in paint and body, and you'll come out on top

Tons of advice here.
There is even reference to candy paints.
