My Bug used to ski forward in the wet as soon as I braked! And then I got my heavy spare wheel and that helped.... and with a full tank of petrol it helped even more....but since getting new 185 Yokohama tyres on the front, I haven't locked up once. :D

Its weird.
My car takes of much quicker in the wet.
You actually have to try pretty hard to get any wheel spin on launch. I guess 8 inch wide tyres help though!
It corners like magic in the wet or dry!
Dosent matter which.

And like any bug, there are a few leaks.
I tell the passengers it all part of the fun of having a 35 yr old car!:P
