2l twin carbs VS 1.3 EFi, I'd say so. Our carby swift is awesome on fuel economy and it's done 250,000 plus now. Also, your buggy tank is bound to be smaller than the swift fuel tank, so you're gonna notice filling up more often.

On the heater, with my top on and the side screens zipped up, it gets toasty pretty fast. And I still have a coolent powered heater to install...and air con if I can be bothered, so being cold won't be an issue forever either. ;)

I have tried to use a manx as a daily driver for ~3 weeks, and currently use a motorcycle as my daily driver.

I have to say a manx has the disadvantages of a bike;
your exposed to the weather, a truck will drive over you, you can't leave anything in it at the shops without worrying about it getting stolen...

But you also have all the disadvantages of a car;
much higher fuel consumption, can't quickly overtake everything, no splitting traffic, have to park in a car park (and pay car prices and tolls)...

So for me a manx as a daily driver sucked. The bike was a much better option. I have rain gear for the bike, and when I wear that I am completely dry. The manx is only as weather proof as the roof, which generally on manx's isn't so great.

I have to agree with you, except for one thing. My roof doesn't leak as much as many of the old hard top rust buckets my mates used to drive before they got rich and wise. If the top is well made and has sail anchor round the windscreen, it should be fine.
