The solenoid is activated when earthed. Make sure you've got power at the solenoid from the main harness wire.
On the other connection, remove the wire and use a jumper wire from that solenoid connection straight to earth.

No "click" and BuggyBrad is the man to call. And call him, not e-mail or u2u.

My spare is still on a slow boat from the US so I can't help.

Sorry if I'm sounding like a pedantic a***hole, but better to be 100% sure before splashing cash.

Sorry i understand now about activated when earthed, i was thinking you just apply outside power not an earth...
Well im going to have another play around today and post up my findings,
cheers lads

Felony,
Body??? Of what? Not the solenoid!! You run ground to the other connection tab. And that ground is either battery, or chassis or anywhere except the solenoid body.

I am now in Melbourne and will be stuffing around Ferntree Gully on Saturday a.m. U2U me if you want a definite second opinion. Also, if your control valve is bung, you need to make sure you get a working one for your 100 smackers. Electrical and Vacuum tests on it!!

I'd be accepting the kind offers to have one of these people come and have a look at it for you. It will be fixed in no time, maybe for free, and you'll meet some people that are kind enough to help someone they haven't met before. Good luck.

Yes, its very hard if You don't understand electrics...etc...

The power goes to one male spade connection on the end of the electric/vacuum/control valve...
and the earth is onto the other spade connection...

and people really want a lot of dollars for stickshift parts....
but many have already been thrown to the dump/tip....

My flexplate came loose in the centre with rivets...
I was going to buy another used one... but at $200,
I just hammered the rivets home then My Son welded the centre in... so it will last forever....
problem is, when people take the flexplate off the engine they destroy or bend it out of shape...
so they are very rare.....

At $100 , see if You can return it if it doesn't work-
vacuum wise.... It may be OK electrically....

Best of Luck

Did You understand the drawings I sent You?
They are a very complicated machine, compared with a manual.... Porsche called them a sportomatic....

Lee

I was just wondering whether the two spade connections are still on the end of the control valve....
as they can easily be pulled off or broken off....
sorry I don't have a photo of one, but I'm sure there is in one of My 10 workshop/owners manuals...

I had the ignition on like it said to in the documents i got sent ( thanks i appreciate that ), ran the carb wire to the solonoid and ground the other tab to the bumper mount which is metal and should be a sufficient ground and i got nothing, tried several times...
for the 100 its from volkspower and said they would warranty it for 6 months,
Thanks

Ok, it's dead.....

Yep, if it doesn't click after that, it's dead.

Good score on the replacement jobbie!

If you want to flog your dead one off to scientists for medical experiments, drop me a U2U.
