i bought my oval round to the father in laws for a time just for storage and while poking round under the fuel tank found 3 redbacks, a can of raid and a can of mortien soon killed them :)

Definitely spray.

But at least rust won't be a worry as most spiders don't like wet/damp places.
We bought a split which was full of spiders and even had an ant nest. Only rust was years old
