Well, the story has come to a pause... the car got written off this morning. I was going straight ahead and this lady wanted to turn right, out of a side street on my left hand side. She didnt see me coming so she pulled out and I was going too fast to stop in time (and no I wasnt speeding). So I collected her drivers side rear quarter. It was a brand spankin new nissan maxima. Strangely though, it made a mess of my car, but not so much of hers. Here are the damage pics:

It twisted the whole front section of my car from the dash forward and badly bent my front beam. The plan is to get a run around car until we finish off building this floorpan with a re-sprayed shell and engine conversion done. I just have to wait to see how much I get back from the lady's insurance company.

Its only repairable if you want to weld in another entire section from the dash forward, and the front beam is bent quite badly, I drove it home and when you were travelling straight ahead the car felt like it was diagonal. Not sure how the floorpan took the impact, but the body is gone, as well as the front beam. I only have 3rd party insurance with shannons, so they wont get involved, unless the other persons insurance company undervalues it. It will be stripped for parts once everythings finalised. I have to wait until wednesday before I can do anything more as thats when the other car will be getting assessed.

By the way, the trick floorpan being built up at the moment in the pics above wasnt on the bug that got crashed. Its still getting completed, so we're gonna be on the lookout for a good body to bolt onto it.

Well, instead of buying a run around car I decided it was time that I had a somewhat nicer looking car to drive around in. Last sunday I put a deposit on a mint condition R33 skyline gts-t and have organised a loan for it. Will get some pics of it up when I get it. I decided it was time I got a break from driving a rough v-dub for a while.

Progress will still continue on the floorpan tho, we will eventually find a shell for it.

I just had a very naughty idea. you'v got that awesome floorpan, and a body that is worth nothing, so modifying it radically is no skin off you nose. Why not turn it into a wild volksrod body?
