In that case use the smaller lighter wheels.
The lower gearing will make the car accellerate harder.
Use the taller tyre if you can leave it in 3rd all the way.
I am going to do this for the Warwick 1/8 mile drags.

Craig, I might try to get to the Aust. Championships next year, even if it's to spectate. Hadn't really considered it before... Main worry is I
don't have a tow vehicle or trailer. Maybe this engine will be "worn out" by then! I'm hoping it will get through all next year's Vic Champ.

Thanks Dave, will use the smaller tyres as run out of rev's in third around 100-110k's or so (have been too intent on watching the track to note the
exact speed). Third is LOW. I don't see much hope of beating the 'chipped' XR6 turbo, but we'll try. Will let you know when it's on.
Next Sunday: Last of this year's rounds at Mt. Leura (Camperdown). We have lightened the car some more, and if the weather's dry/warm it'll all
be happening! Am coming a very close 4th in class overall for the State Champ's, and hope to at least make it 3rd for the year.

Yesterday at Mt. Leura: 38.87s (previous best 42.95s, in the wet).
2nd in class, beating a seriously prepared/stripped out Anglia by just 0.105s !!! He's always beaten Brutus until now. Class winner was another
very seriously prepared/lightened Datsun at 37.48s Need to get another 1.4s faster! Considering Brutus is not fully lightened,it amy be
possible...
I think Brutus will come 3rd in class for the year (to be confirmed) out of 8 starters, and has got two second places after a bit of a shakey start to
the year, and missing one round. thanks to Brutus's sponsors & supporters, especially Quality Performance Lubes for providing the ACE 30 Air
Cooled Engine oil, and ACE 90 gear oil that the car has run all year.
Next year ther will be 6 rounds again in Victoria but all at different tracks. Includes Philip Island Hillclimb for the first time ever. Also
Broadford & DECA wherever that is.
It would be grate if some NSW Hillclimbers could come for at least one of the Vic rounds! The guys yesterday were full of awe telling me about these
superfast Beetles that "cleaned them up at Bathurst"!!! "One white, one yellow, and others..." Certainly made an impression on them, they're
even starting to take Brutus a bit mor eseriously I think! Is there a report on Bathurst results re the VW's anywhere?
