Yep...CCC hit the nail right on the head with the collectable machines...hence why I collect them... among my collection are such rarities as an An Apple IIgs Limited "Woz" edition (with Steve Wozniacs signature printed on the front) about 7 Mac Pluses, including one in an original mac carrybag (CCC may know the one Im talking about) with all original software and manuals, and in mint condition, a Macintosh 512K, a BBC AcornPC, a few C64's, an Amstrad CPC-464, an ApricotPC, a twin-floppy mac SE, as well as an SE Superdrive and SE FD/HD, an SE/30 (Motorola 68030 powered SE from 1987 which could support 128MB of RAM :duh), a PowerMac 6100/66 DOS Compatible, various Atari's, a few NES's with all the gear and squilllions of NESS games, a Sega Mega-Drive complete with a Sega-CD and Sega master system adapter and all the gear and games with the original boxes... and thats only the tip of the iceberg!... and most of them I got for nothing or next to nothing at tips, schoool auctions, garage sales and fetes!

I even go so far as to fix the older macs..in particular the 9" Compacts at a component level...as they are so simple..not much harder than working on a tube radio....

Mostly its for the love of them that i collect all this crap...but many are also rapidly appreciating in value or are destined too soon...but as CCC said.. old AT PC's are worth squat no matter what... unless they are a genuine IBM machine... in which case you may strike lucky. :tu:

as a testament to the value of old apple hardware in particular about 4 years ago I sold a dude something or another... cant remember what... but it was computer related... anyhow..he noticed a broken 512K I happened to have (I once owned 3 of them)...and offered me 70 bucks for it there and then...

Makes me kind of pissed about the one that got melted to a cinder in my shed back in the 2001 bushfires...in its original box with all the gear and software and books and stuff...priceless... and now non existant! :cry

Oh yeah, I'm hanging on to my Donkey Kong Game&watch.
I remember playing it in primary school at lunchtime. Got it for my birthday..purchased from a little shop in Miranda Fair.
Wish I still had my LED pacman game..clocked it when I was a teenager... Got pretty tense toward the end!

I had both of the Donkey Kong dual screen games, but some scumbag at school stole them. I was devastated!
